NPR is publicly funded which always invites the argument over whether they are evil or stupid.
Their reaction outlined here suggests they are both.
So, they have chosen... to continue to lose audience.

I call our local station ‘Wisconsin Pravda Radio.’ It totally fits - though the local gardening shows and ‘Chapter a Day’ are usually pretty good and politics-free. De-fund them, anyway! Let WPR hold Bake Sales to stay in business!

I knew a very smart medical lady who NEVER listened to anything but NPR.

I find it interesting that NPR acts surprised that they are accused of being one-sided, when the very advertising that they use emphasizes how objective they are...they sound like CNN, the “most trusted name in news.”
They focus on the message they feel is most needed, but if they were objective and not slanted, they would not emphasize their fairness.
