Israel is deciding its next steps after Iran's retaliatory attack as fears grow of a wider war in the Middle East.
What to know
An Israeli response to Iran's retaliatory attack may be “imminent,” a source told NBC News. The comments came as Israel weighed its next steps and after a meeting of the country’s war Cabinet today.
The two countries clashed at an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, with Tehran insisting it does not seek further escalation after launching the barrage of 300 drones and missiles, but warning of more "decisive" strikes in retaliation to any Israeli counterattack.
U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres said it was time to “step back from the brink” as a chorus of world leaders urged restraint. President Joe Biden has warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against launching new strikes on Iran, and said that the U.S. would not participate in any offensive actions against Iran, but has privately said he fears that Netanyahu is trying to drag the U.S. into a wider conflict, officials told NBC News.
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., had a call with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today to convey support for Israel following Iran's retaliatory strikes this weekend, according to both their offices.
According to a statement from Netanyahu's office, Scalise expressed support "for any decision that Israel makes in light of the Iranian attack."
"Majority Leader Scalise informed the Prime Minister of his initiative to advance in Congress, in the coming days, a series of measures against Iran and for Israel; Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked him," the statement said.
Scalise told Fox News that they spoke about the House agenda this week and that he spoke to Netanyahu of his support for Israel's right to self- defense.
"He truly appreciated the action we’re taking to support Israel and to hold Iran and their terrorist proxies accountable," Scalise told the broadcaster.
Jordan allowed Israeli fighter jets into its airspace to intercept incoming Iranian missiles and drones, an Israeli Air Force official said today.
“In order to address something that comes from the east, we need to fly somewhere that is east of Israel,” the official said in a briefing to reporters. “This was done with coordination.”
While Iran’s direct attack against Israel was unprecedented, so was the scale of coordination between Israel and its Arab neighbor in the response. Jordanian and Israeli fighters — coordinated by the U.S. military — acted together to intercept the barrage of drones and missiles.
In a statement yesterday, Jordan’s government said the interceptions were made to ensure the safety of its citizens, rather than in the defense of Israel.
But it is thought to be the first time the two countries’ militaries have fought side-by-side.
Jordan and Israel made peace in 1994, though the relationship has often been strained by disagreements over Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians.
The parallels between Russia/Ukraine and Israel/Iran-Hamas are striking. In both instances, FJB gave a wink and a nod to the aggressor (and then tripped, but that’s another story), then used the subsequent aggression as an excuse to embroil the U.S. into a larger conflict that could have been avoided in the first place. We’re not there yet with Iran/Israel, but it seems like we could be headed that way.
You said it best!
“IOW, FJB”
And the Marxist demon (Barack) he rode in on.
Ping for index
The key takeaway is that both parties are completely ignoring Snuffles Biden, who is dutifully hiding in the corner and sucking his thumb, whimpering “Don’t” over and over to himself.
“chutzpah: Sending 350 drones and missiles to destroy another country and then claiming it would be inciteful for the other country to respond in kind”
I see it also as gaslighting.... since there are people out there stupid and evil enough to fall for that line of BS... because of their hatred for Israel.
It is all BS. Iran told Turkey what they were going to do and they told us. We want along with it and probably told Israel, so now it’s over and done with. Israel will do nothing as their attack on Iran’s Consulate caused all this to begin with.
It was all orchestrated for public consumption and that story is over.
Just drop a brick with a note on downtown Tehran , one the note, “the next one goes boom”
GO ISRAEL!!
Assuming that number is true, that there were ZERO fatalities in Israel and minor damage to one or two Israeli military bases, combined with those drones and missiles that actually didn't crash on takeoff getting SHOT DOWN means Iran failed MISERABLY.
Russia, China and North Korea likely provided the technology - or a huge chunk of it - for Iran. What am embarassment for them too.
The USA / Israel sharing of defense technology is reaping huge benefits.
Hopefully China thinks twice about trying to invade Taiwan before Shitshow Joe gets voted out of office in November.
(with Tehran insisting it
does not seek further escalation after launching the barrage
of 300 drones and missiles(
Oh, OK
Peace 🕊️🕊️🕊️☮️☮️☮️
You’ll have to ask Ezekiel
Or God
The fear porn just doesnt have the punch it once did.
It’s now about 3:30 AM in Tehran. Perfect attack time.
🤔🤔🤔
Prayer time in Iran is at 4:02 AM. Not sure if that would be a good time to attack or not.
I don’t know what they’ll do, but they can’t let Joe Biden tell them what to do.
The beautiful thing is, Iran doesn’t know what they’ll do either.
Let's look at the prophecies in Ezekiel and see if they came true or not.
"This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘Here I am against you, O Tyre, and I will bring up against you many nations, just as the sea brings up its waves. And they will certainly bring the walls of Tyre to ruin and tear down her towers, and I will scrape her dust away from her and make her a shining, bare surface of a crag. . . . And your stones and your woodwork and your dust they will place in the very midst of the water." (Ezekiel 26:3, 4, 12)
That happened centuries later around 332 BC.
For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors: (Ezekiel 36:22–24)
Wow! That is exactly what happened in the early 20th century, culminating with Israel becoming a nation formally again in AD 1948!
Aristotle wrote that we should trust the evidence of our testing. The Apostle Paul wrote pretty much the same (see tagline). Looks to me like Ezekiel stands the test.
Hey Captain, “all this” is Israel’s fault? There were no hundreds of rockets from Gaza built using Iranian money, no October 7 “festivities”, no hundreds of Iranian rockets from Hezbolla and Houtis fired on Israel since October? It’s now “over and done with” for you? How nice, so you can rest on your superior knowledge of what BS is and isn’t.
Hopefully, Jews disagree...
