This is the innocent 68-year-old grandmother who was punched in the face and pushed down the stairs outside a Queens church during a robbery that saw her sixteen-year-old attacker take off with her car.
Irene Tahliambouris suffered a fractured skull, black eye, and numerous bruises from the vicious assault that took place outside of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on 152 Street in Briarwood around 8.20 on Sunday.
Her attacker Jayvaun Prince, 16, was taken into custody today in a gurney after suffering an unknown medical episode.

It appears to be a variant of the so-called knockout game and I believe that should be raised to a crime equivalent to attempted murder with 15-25 year prison sentences. It could deter some and reduce the number of these vicious attacks, as well as keeping repeat offenders off the streets until they perhaps had reached an age of self-control.
I doubt this guy will see any sentence over three years but hope to be proved wrong.
I’d like to give him an “unknown medical episode”.
OOPS! He slipped!
After which, he'll collect $25 million.
Don’t try to apply logic here. These are not rules civilized people were intended to understand. It’s like trying to convince a cat not to kill a mouse.
Romans 13:4 states that the government does not bear the sword in vain but is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.
We have to make sure the government does it’s job.
My God! What a wallop! This just p!sses me off.
The way she fell back and hit her head, she could have easily been killed.
From this point, the Justice system is trying to figure out a way to be lenient to him. When my brother was mugged, they told him “We don’t investigate these crimes. Be more careful next time”. If he had told them they are anti-gay MAGA hats that did it, they would investigate it.
I actually SCREAMED when I saw this!
If it had been my dad who arrested the POS, he would have needed medical attention in the ER.
Hopefully, Canadian sealers mistook him for a baby Harp seal.
Exactly
From this point, the Justice system is trying to figure out a way to be lenient to him.
One can only hope his ‘unforeseen medical emergency’ is at least as painful as his victim’s injuries.
When police do not trust the system, unknown medical episodes proliferate.
Evidently he tried to whack himself while in custody.
Be careful what you wish for. The death penalty is a political football. If prosecutors have access to it, they manipulate things to make sure they make their mark and make their careers on “I got the death penalty for this bad person who did bad things.” Because that plays well with the voters, other prosecutors get re-elected by claiming they got the death penalty for someone else[, except maybe they didn’t have such good evidence but it’s totes ok because they got the death penalty.].
I don’t think that capital punishment, in and of itself, is a sin or a moral wrong. Some crimes can only be leveled by death of the perpetrator. But prosecutors are human beings and the political incentives are there to turn them into truly horrible human beings. Truly horrible human beings suppress evidence, suppress jury selection, lie about evidence, help bad cops or bad (worse) witnesses, and other things. I don’t believe that there is sin in capital punishment; I believe our system of justice is insufficiently capable of recognizing when it’s actually warranted.
It's not a racist term. Thugi as a term has been adopted and incorporated into the modern multicultural English language lexicon. In its original form, it was specific to a particular cult. In its modern form, it's absolutely legitimate to understand it as a person of physical violence without concern for the law, often acting at the instruction of another. In the video at question, the individual appeared to be acting as a thug.
I tried looking in the linked article, but couldn’t figure anything out..
Hope someone figures it out...
Those who would abuse the death penalty will not stop at killing those they consider inconvenient or uncooperative.
