Former Attorney General Bill Barr on Wednesday denounced former President Trump’s exhortation for Congress to kill the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) as “crazy and reckless” and warned there will be “blood on people’s hands” if the intelligence community’s surveillance authority expires and there’s a terrorist attack on the United States.
“I think it’s crazy and reckless to not move forward with FISA. It’s our principal tool protecting us from terrorist attacks. We’re living through a time where those threats have never been higher, so it’s blinding us, it’s blinding our allies,” Barr told The Hill in an interview.
“I think President Trump’s opposition seems to have stemmed from personal pique rather than any logic and reason. The provision that he objects to has nothing to do with the provision that’s on the floor,”

When FISA warrants were restricted to foreign subjects it was OK and needed. When Comey and crowd began including US citizens it violated the FISA law as written and no one called them on it. And the FISA judges knowing of the fraudulent applications continued to grant the warrants. We have a problem with FISA judges too.

Barr just removed all doubt that the current FISA must die.
My first thought as well. There is a place for a FISA-like law but it must contain far stricter controls than the current abomination and also include very, very harsh consequences for misuse, consequences that range from long jail time to the death penalty. The clowns that falsified the FISA warrants that kicked off the ludicrous ‘Russia - Russia’ scandals should be worm food by now.

Reforms that would be ignored by a corrupt FBI;
Penalties that would only be imposed on people who support Trump;
Criminal Penalties venued in Washington DC full of jurors who would never convict a democrat no matter how strong the evidence and would never acquit a MAGA Republican no matter how stupid the case or evidence.

What could be more un-American than secret law, enforced by secret courts, and the FBI rifling through your papers without a warrant? The founders would’ve been shooting these people with a Brown Bess by now.
Replace ALL of the top brass at FBI and NSA then we can talk about re-authorization. Without that, forget it. They simply cannot be trusted to not use their vast powers against a political rival like Trump.
Fire them so Trump can start suing the crap out of them too.
