The Arizona Supreme Court ruled Tuesday to reinstate a 160-year-old abortion ban—and Republicans who previously backed it, including Senate candidate Kari Lake, immediately began flip-flopping.
The court overturned a 2022 law that allows for abortions until 15 weeks, paving the way for an 1864 ban that prohibits the procedure in almost all cases, except to save the life of the mother.

I think the Babylon Bee covered it for several prominent politicians.
Although with same sex marriage, in 2022 Congress passed the Respect for Marriage Act, which explicitly legalizes same sex marriage in federal law.
So even if court cases on same sex marriage were ever overturned , we now have a federal law legalizing it.
Presumably this federal law would override states which had banned same sex marriage.
Good for her understanding her electorate and trying to win an election.
Yeah we can trust leftist children at Yahoo to run a story on Lake. You little rat tolls are litter.
Trump by proxy along with the OP.
Try harder next time.
Is this the same AZ Supreme RINO Court that fully supported the 2022 AZ stolen elections?
Yes, it's funny how they now support a territorial law that could hurt MAGA in the up coming elections.
Lake knows that if MAGA loses AZ in '24, Biden and Galago will win, and the slaughter that is abortion will win.
the silly season started early.
Be advised: Joebucks is a Democrat troll par excellence.
Yep. It’s a Lindsey Graham Tactic. But before people get too stressed, idiots who fall for it were highly unlikely to vote for Lake anyway. Because Trump’s a racist…or something.
Galego and Biden will win with this law in place. Which will lead to Biden packing the courts, and abortion everywhere winning.
Perhaps she's smart enough to realize that. You certainly aren't.
I think common logic covered it 10,652 times.
Which may explain why the TDS afflicted and DeSantis folks are having a tough time of it.
The abortion issue mimics the slavery issue in many ways. For 50 years the pro death side ruled. The truth is the issue is moot because of a pill that no Government is going to be able to stop.
It's a problem
It’s true because we have lost control of the messaging - the other side has had tons more cash to run more ads and marketing campaigns falsely framing the issue - casting is as being Republicans wanting women to be raped and forced to carry a problem pregnancy to term and die...and portraying radical pro-abortion policies as a family values vote - soft, warm ads with kids, grandmas, clergy, etc. urging people to vote for the proabortion measures including abortion all the way up to birth - in Ohio, even, where nowhere near a majority supports abortion up to birth...yet they still voted for it - big time.
The question is what she stands for. Her response is in line with Trump. I am guessing she is in line with Trump with expectations to win AZ - ride his coat tails they assume. I don’t see how any of this moves an agenda; perhaps winning an election only. I live in AZ- nothing has changed to ensure a fair election; not to mention the fraud to ensure all the democrats won at top of ballot and it went red down ballot?
I laugh at it- just as I laughed when Trump asked, are you better off now than 4 years ago? Does he remember what was happening 4 years ago? Unfortunately, it is better now than four years ago. And it sucks now. If I believed there would be real punishment for those that steal elections; kill babies; push unending war; promote terrorist organizations; open borders and suppresses medical freedom I would feel better about turning over the scum in charge now.
I am wondering if it is a set up for failure to argue and dismiss this as a state matter. It is a national issue, needs national discussion. Republicans at the moment are ceding that discussion, if they don’t change, they will lose all across the nation. And we don’t need to be pro-abortion to win, no, not at all.
A state (or nation) with no respect for life will have no respect for anything else that matters. Enjoy the collapse.
Unfortunately, it seems that many people on this forum have no principles. For decades they talked of how “abortion is murder,” but when it came time to actually stand for principle, they want to run and hide. God will not be mocked and time will be unkind to the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot.
Glad you are a chess player. Seems like a lot of checkers people here.
