North Central Florida here (south of Gainesville): nothing. Nada. Zip, except for some hazy clouds. I don’t think I’ll be around in 2044, so C’est la Vie...
I thought of a great cartoon.
Bunch of aliens standing on the moon, staring up at the sky during a lunar eclipse, Earth is in the foreground, blocking the sun.
And all the aliens are going, “Ooooooooooooo!!!!!”
Here near to Erie it got dark like when a storm is coming. Different though.
Air was still too.
Total Solar Eclipse in Carbondale, Illinois

It was the creepening away of light I noted and how quiet and still it was here...though we didn’t go all dark like some you could tell something unusual was happening...it’s a different loss of light.
Now that you mention it, that does happen - there’s an odd stillness. But does it seem so because the birds quiet down, the air itself stills, or both?
With the snow on the ground it lked like moonlight.
Little curved moon shaped sun spots on the ground
Neat
LOL! It sounds like a huge crowd at a big sports event.
Carbondale: Said to be the Moloch Ritual capital of these United States.

birdbrains lol
I was impressed with the little ‘crescent suns’ on the ground when I first saw that. It’s the leaves of trees acting like pinhole cameras.
I think both....On guy said the crickets were loudly chirping. I think it’s confusing for the animals when it goes dark. Probably like when a storm is coming and they tend to hunker down. Had I not known of it I would have suspected a storm brewing.
Perfect viewing this afternoon from Greer, SC.
When is eclipse suppose to happen?
The sun disappeared today for about 5 min.
Dark as night and scary. Sun’s back. Whewwwww
It does seem a little like a storm is coming.
Here in SE Texas it got dark because a storm was here.
We were/are under a tornado warning due to the storms.
Couldn’t tell if the darkness was the eclipse or the storms.
That’s why I opted to watch on TV....didn’t want to miss any of it. So I saw it as it traveled it’s track across all the states....until it hit Cleveland ohio when things here in West. Pa. started to grow dim.
Differet times depending where you were at. Sounds like you got it there.
