Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. issued a statement on the January 6 prosecutions Friday, saying that while violent rioters deserved to be punished, many prosecutions of non-violent protesters were excessive.
Kennedy’s statement undercuts the Democratic Party’s effort to portray the 2024 election as a “defense of democracy” and a referendum on the so-called “insurrection,” which Democrats blame on former President Donald Trump.
Kennedy’s statement reads as follows:
January 6 is one of the most polarizing topics on the political landscape. I am listening to people of diverse viewpoints on it in order to make sense of the event and what followed. I want to hear every side.

As far as I’m concerned, Trump’s intention to pardon the Jan 6th tourists makes him bullet-proof on this issue, but it is great to see Kennedy also taking the proper side.

The leftist media is too corrupted to ask the pertinent questions of those claiming it was an insurrection. That being... who has been charged with insurrection. They dare not ask for or seek the truth.

If there were an insurrection D.C. would be cleaned up by now so all the evidence proves there was none.
But it doesn’t stop the media and abusers of law from saying there was one.
It was a peaceful protest that got hijacked by some leftwing and Fed trouble makers.

You need to ask the correct questions to get the correct answer.
Why are the Democrats so concerned about him?
Hint—it is not “issues” at all.
It is exposure.
RFK Jr. will get exposure (good and bad) on mass media sites that are viewed and trusted by Democrats and Democratic leaning independents and despised and distrusted by their Republican counterparts.
The Democrat professionals understand this.

Given my understanding of his stated positions on various issues I can see the "undecided" seeing him as the least evil/worthless/inept of the three main candidates.
As I said before I hope to God I'm wrong...and I certainly could be. I was wrong once in 1982!
It is worth your time to read some mass media coverage of RFK Jr. While the headlines are negative they do interview voters who support him.
A solid majority are Democrats or Democrat leaning independents who think Biden is senile, are anti-woke, are tired of illegal immigration, are tired of censorship, think LGBTXYZ666 is kooky, and are tired of fascist tactics by their fellow Democrats. Many have seen others or themselves canceled or harassed in the workplace or elsewhere.
RFK Jr.’s most important lefty position is “climate change” and that gives Democrats an excuse to vote for him.
They were never going to vote for President Trump.
RFK Jr. as a Democrat, and he is, whether he runs with the label or not, will siphon more votes from Biden by a LOT, than will be lost by Trump.
The rump of the historic Democrat party, the Democrat Socialists, has seized control and is running to the left as hard as they can, because they have this notion that is what voters want. They are reading the room all wrong.
Classic Democrats have been forcibly evicted from the party, and many have slid away to the position of becoming independents. The core of the Democrat Socialists make up perhaps less than 30% of the electorate, but of course, a really dedicated corps of shock troops. Most of the machinery to move forward with vote fraud of every variety practiced in 2020 and 2022 is still in place, like inflated voter rolls, carefully keyed production of fake ballots, ballot harvesting schemes, and outright muscle to keep Republican or independent observers OUT of the rooms where the physical count is going on. Add to that the existence of voting machines with a most curious algorithm, that is designed to report the tabulation incorrectly, and the failure to match up voter signatures with mail-in ballots. And of course, persons who manage to vote multiple times with a different set of credentials each time, provided in the name of persons deceased or moved to another locality, whose names remain on the local roster of voters.
