Speculation is heating up about former President Trump’s choice of running mate.
But the bigger question is, does it matter?
The former president is so uncommonly polarizing that there will be few voters who can be shifted one way or another by a vice presidential candidate. Trump being Trump, his eclipse of whoever is on the lower half of the ticket is likely to be total.

Kamala seemingly served a similar purpose — in a somewhat different way.
Absolutely
I concur
Unless he were to make some horrible choice, like Vivek or something, no his vp choice won’t matter much.
A bad choice has major downside, while the upside of a hood or great choice is more limited.
You are just horny.
haley would lose the south for him ... a humiliating defeat indeed ...
does she still want to “reform” the electoral college?
It matters for what comes after - matters a lot on if we can hold the line and/or continue to move forward in the right direction.
“Ben Carson. He would be the calm stoic face that Pence provided.”
And an ACTUAL Christian, as opposed to Thirty Pence.
“Gov. Greg Abbot, the man has some stones for sure.”
He only recently discovered that he had stones. Too many years cavorting with the cartels before that to suit me.
I like Dr. Carson. But I am not sure he will be strong enough to carry the America First political agenda forward once Trump has left the scene. After all, in Trump’s case, that is the principal point for picking a Trumpian successor. And to that end, I can think of no better candidate for Trump’s VP pick than Allen West.
VP matters because of his age.
Prefer that he not choose a woman.
Ben Carson would be good — Mr. Steady Eddie. He’d be stupid, though, to want to be entrenched in that cesspool again. And he’s not stupid.
I like Ben Carson, but I'm not sure.
I think that no matter how stellar it promises to be, the Liberals will so totally trash Trump's administration, that any VP in that administration will be tarred with the same brush...and in a weak position to run later on his/her own.
I’m w/ you on Abbott. He OWNS the #1 issue in this campaign season: the border. He also checks off the FDR/wheelchair box w/o being FDR.
As for Carson, beautiful guy; but people who put him forth have no idea the mileage the presstitutes will get out of his adherence to Seventh Day Adventism. “Dr. Carson, a quick question, if I may: Do you believe that those who worship on Sunday have the Mark of the Beast, are Sunday-worshippers the Antichrist?”
There’s an Alinskyish frame-up waiting for him. Too bad.
I liked Pompeo.
He seemed to get a little soft when Trump needed people with backbone, but he didn’t go anywhere near full letdown or betrayer that I can remember.
Mike Pompeo
Matt Whitaker

bttt
I agree 100%!!!
Trump is ‘polarizing’ but other right wing front runners wouldn’t be? That’s just more horsesh*t from the left.
Trump is successful and working FOR America.
The left can’t have that. So they’re on full attack 24x7.
Not exactly a newsflash.
Yes a establishment/Uniparty/globalist choice would harm him as well.
A bad choice would harm him but a good or great choice upside is limited.
Perhaps. But remember that DeSantis et al were called RINOs here despite their conservative beliefs. Will the True Believers give Tulsi, who is much further left than DeSantis, a pass because she is given Trump’s imprimatur?
