If they’re going through all the trouble to warn you about how bad it is, and how unsafe it is, that means it’s probably secure and they can’t snoop. So, instead of forcing the parent company to give them access (which is in Russia according to the story), they just seek to scare everyone away from using it.
TRANSLATION: Private communications that the NSA cannot intercept and decrypt is “privacy.” Privacy is bad. Total surveillance is good.
On the subject of security threats,
“Facebook snooped on users’ Snapchat traffic in secret project, documents reveal”
https://techcrunch.com/2024/03/26/facebook-secret-project-snooped-snapchat-user-traffic/
Absurd.
I’ve never used it, and I never will. I have only Facebook as my sole social site. I closed everything else, including my Twitter/X account. I’m getting tired of all the bad news, all the evil, I see on those kinds of platforms.
The author of the swill probably thinks Fakebook, because it is US in origin, is some kind of clean act. It is as bad as any of the others.
Lets just ban everything!

Telegram is the mouthpiece for MI6.
Wrong thread. Sorry.
I had never heard of Telegram until 2021, but I’m now a regular user. Several local conservative and patriotic groups began using it to communicate following the crackdown on conservatives and the MAGA movement by the FBI and Big Tech following J6.
“ Integrity Institute, a U.S think-tank…”
A 2 year old company populated with employees from Facebook, google and fired Twitter workers. Even Grindr is represented. Lots of studies on the wrong kind of misinformation. Nice propaganda and the circle jerk of self feeding DC is known.
Ahh… Newsweek, that font of TRUTH and LOVE-FOR-AMERICA.
Yes, of course that’s sarcasm, Frenchy.
you truly are a deep-state tw@t
Whatever they are for - more war, censorship on Americans, mass surveillance, rigged elections, massive debt spending - you have a propaganda article for just that.
it’s not the paper, it’s a phone app for encrypted communication...
As noted in post 11.
Unless you can create your own encryption, assume everything digital is compromised and all meta-data is collected.
Fly below the radar, Big Brother is watching.
