Incumbent Democrat Mayor Katie Rosenberg of Wausau, Wisconsin, lost her reelection bid in a race that the far-left Milwaukee Journal Sentinel says “could represent trouble to come for Democratic candidates later this year, and in particular, Biden.”
Rosenberg defeated incumbent Republican Mayor Robert Mielke by about five points in 2020. This happened in the heart of the pandemic, so her acceptance speech was a memorable two-word xweet: “HOLY BALLS.
Since 2020, Rosenberg has been seen as a rising Democrat star in the area and even a potential candidate for governor. She regularly appeared with Democrat Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers and at other party speaking events.

Kick every freaking democrat out on their ass!
Joe Bidens policies spell trouble for Joe Biden. Unfortunately he has no idea what they are and who wrote them?
Confusing article. Who is the mayor now?
Other than this being bad news for His Fraudulency Joe Biden, the good news in this race is the effort the GOP put into pulling it off.
Rosenberg told the Journal Sentinel that “the spending of Republicans was noticeable in the last several weeks, with flyers arriving at voters’ homes several times a day, in addition to T.V. ads.”
Good to see the GOP finally playing the rats game
I still know Wausau pretty well and have relatives there.
It’s a nice-sized city in north-central Wisconsin, about halfway between Green bay and Mpls-St. Paul.
It’s pretty blue collar still but there is a growing white collar class there.
There’s are a lot of Hmong there. Have been since the late 1970’s.
I can’t picture the blue collar guys and gals voting for a Democrat. The Hmong will vote for anyone with a D behind their name - although many of the Hmong elders are more conservative.
Crime has risen there and some parts of the city look kinda dumpy - but all in all, I don’t view it as a bad place to live. Over the years when in town, I’ve done some tavern squatting at your local corner watering hole.
This desperation by both sides to try to spin any small local election as some sort of indication for the next statewide or national election has got to stop.
I know both sides want to write things into these things, but rarely is some local off cycle or special election any indication of the statewide sentiment on anything.
I don’t know if these people are just not good at it, or if journalism has changed for some reason. In a story about the incumbent mayor losing, why would the author write about the person she defeated in 2020 one or two paragraphs before mentioning the name person who defeated her in 2024? You know, the new mayor?
This kind of writing style is more and more common. I am just guessing, but it may have something to do with advertising revenues. If you have to read several paragraphs before you get the information, you will see more ads and stay on the page longer. And those stats are used to sell advertising “our readers stay on our pages 20% longer than the other news sites” type of thing.
Bongino says that if the Republicans jump ship and allow the democrats to take control of the House, that the power of incumbency will help them maintain control in November.
If that were the case, the same party would always control the House.
Control of the House is flipped regularly.
And the case could be made that if the democrats gain control of the House in November, it matters not that Trump will win; the nation if over due to stupidity.
it wqs the rat primary- the GOP evidently worked to get the far lefty, who is presently mayor, defeated
Thanks
Maybe written by AI? Probably not given how horribly it’s written.
No, it doesn’t. Whatever mechanism got Bony Beavers re-elected to a second term will be used to get a Biden win.*
*Note: if that mechanism is actually the people of Wisconsin, that state is in BIG TROUBLE!
“Control of the House is flipped regularly.”
Seems to be the one last place where ‘government’ actually works as designed by our Forefathers!
Great News out of Wisconsin today, though! :)
“Private money to fund elections will be banned in Wisconsin after voters approved a constitutional amendment Tuesday put forward by Republicans in reaction to grants received in 2020 that were funded by donations from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Voters also approved a second question put on the ballot by the Republican-controlled Legislature that amends the constitution to say that only election officials can administer elections. That’s already state law, but putting it in the constitution makes it more difficult to repeal or change.”

That is good news, WI is one of the rust belt states who actually took Voter Integrity seriously... I know the press doesn’t report it, but there have been many court cases out of WI that found things they did in 2020 ILLEGAL, and changed statutes etc to prevent the hanky panky that went on in 2020 from happening again there.
Amen, Bro!
Looks like i was wrong- it was not the rat primary rather an outright election where the Conservative beat the lefty...the wider media will remain silent about this:

👍
2020 was a Sea Change in Wisconsin. People woke up and figured things out.
Praying and hoping that we can hand President in Exile Trump a WIN - well beyond what we did for him in 2016. :)
We’ll see. The markers are in place and a lot of the CHEATING has been CONSTITUTIONALLY negated.
