The town I have rentals in are trying to make a moratorium on private landlords. They’ve welcomed in a new build of apartments that will no doubt go to “affordable housing” despite the town board saying they will be “market rate.”
We already have sealed eviction records here statewide so I screen like nobody’s business as it takes 3 to 6 months to get a tenant out. This is a small rust belt historic town that used to rely heavily on manufacturing jobs which have all gone. Big medical, gov’t/non profit and big retail are the only stable employers.
They will be market rate.
Government will pay.
I got out of the rental business a couple of years before COVID....I would think that evictions would still show up on credit reports? I don’t know though.
