The pilot of the cargo ship that knocked down a highway bridge into Baltimore Harbor had radioed for tugboat help and reported a power loss minutes earlier, federal safety officials say, citing new data from the freight's recorder.

NTSB's investigator in charge, Marcel Muise, said the recovered voyage data recorder (VDR) had helped them establish a timeline of events.
He said the ship had departed from Seagirt Marine Terminal at around 12:39am and had entered the Fort McHenry Channel at 1:07am, before "numerous audible alarms" were recorded on the audio from the ship's bridge at 1:24am.
At about the same time, the data stopped recording, though it resumed shortly after tapping into a redundant power source, Mr Muise said.
At 1:26am, the ship's pilot made a high frequency radio call for tugboats to assist the Dali in what Ms Homendy said was the first sign of needing help.
The pilot later dropped the port anchor and made another radio call at 1:27am, reporting the ship had lost all power and was approaching the bridge

When you make a threat and that threat materializes it's kind of logical to assume that threat was made good on.

The reality is that nobody has even claimed this as a conspiracy. This was the dissemination of facts that the NTSB revealed after their inspection if the black box.
However, it raised more questions than it answered.
Some people rightly raise questions. In case you are unaware, there are no such thing as stupid questions, as long as those questions have not already been answered. But that still doesn't make the question stupid, it just makes it a redundant question.
But honestly, when the first statement out of the mouths of officials is one in which they state it is not an act of terrorism, that statement needs to be questioned immediately. I mean it's not like we have no evidence of the government lying to the people. In fact, there is far too much evidence that they do lie to the people. Once you lie to someone, you can expect to be questioned about your honesty going forward.
Deal with your recovery. That should be your focus, not relieving your irrelevant boredom.

These things are QUICK and POWERFUL.
They’ve got a pair of huge diesel engines.
IF there had been any tug within a mile it could’ve been alongside shoving that ship around in as little as 90 seconds, and God only knows what could have come of it.
Those tug Captains — those guys are fekkin ARTISTS.
They know where to shove, when to shove, how hard to shove and get these mammoth ships nosed into and out of places like slipping a letter into a mail slot.
And they don’t need to lash up to the ship to do all of it; much of their pushing is accomplished without a hawser secured.
The Pilot likely knew it was a slim-to-none chance, but he made the call, anyway, in hope against hope.
All water — uh — over the bridge, now, but the Pilot made all the right moves with the situation he was handed. Nothing to condemn there.
Since the pilot seems to have performed properly, the obvious questions involve the loss of power. The following is just thoughts on what an investigation might entail. I’m not expecting answers.
Mechanical problems.
History of prior power failures?
When did the crew first have signs power failure was approaching that morning? Who built the ship? Who did the major maintenance?
Were any maintenance/repairs called for that had been skipped?
Were there problems with controls? Did some idiot or malefactor shut off the engines accidentally or on purpose?
Contaminated fuel.
When/where was fuel taken on? Who provided it? Do the tanks and lines it came from have contaminated product in them now? History of problems with contaminated fuel in the same area? Who would have profited by diluting the fuel? Kickbacks for looking the other way? How did they expect to get away with it?
Was there a recent switchover from certain onboard reservoirs to others? Does the ship have fuel-filtering, testing, monitoring systems and protocols? How full were/are the reservoirs? At the critical moment, was fuel coming off the “bottom of the barrel”/picking up trash?
My guess is some systematic corruption with contaminated fuel is at the root of this — whether it was taken on in Baltimore or well prior to the incident. Baltimore seems like a corrupt place, but there are lots of others.
Yes I have many times seen tugboats & they are not that fast. Keep dreaming. Those boats were too far away to do anything.

LOL, being against World War 3 in Ukraine forces me to use alternative sources of new on the war (i.e., truthful sources). If you want to see ABJECT HATRED of Israel (and by extension, as you say and I agree, Jews), read what they post. To me, at least, Russia is in a similar position as Israel*, with enemies that CLEARLY want to take control of their country (in the case of Israel, also exterminate most of the residents). But they simply HATE ISRAEL and literally blame them for everything bad that happens in the world.

The coast guard would have jursadiction over the accident, the NTSB just revcovered the Voyage Data Recorder to get a timeline of events.

It’s ironic that a ship named Dali turned that bridge into something that looks like a Salvador Dali painting.
I must’ve misread you. I saw a video on youtube that reported two tugs were escorting the Dali until it had established itself in the channel leaving the harbor. Then they were dismissed or allowed to end their duty. Fairly sure this is the one. 8 minutes.

That turning into the direction of the bridge support at the very last, could have been from an unintended consequence of dropping on the of anchors.
