That's our loss, not his.
I’ll say it again. DeSantis running against Trump was the most bone headed move in modern American political history. He never stood a chance and anyone who told him he did should be driven out of politics for sheer incompetence.
He could have had almost any position in the Trump administration he asked for had he just supported the man. Now, he’s done on the national level. The Trump base will never forgive him.
And he has no one to blame but himself.
No one.

How in the heck did squatters right even get started????
It’s immorality on steroids.
All this talk about “squatters” triggered a memory of this old cartoon by the great Gahan Wilson.

Excellent.
Thank you Governor DeSantis, for showing other governors how the job should be done.
Out on the prairie. You’ve been traveling in a covered wagon for months and months, and you come across an abandoned house, no crops, no livestock. You move in, plow and seed, harvest, fix up the ramshackle house, and years later, your kids growing up there, you think of it as home, but some ragged tramp shows up, having lost everything in the gold fields further West, and claims the land is his. You can deny his claim based on adverse possession, doctrine of laches, and unjust enrichment if he moves in and takes over all your years of work. So you are said to have squatters’ rights.
best governor will be around in 28
I thought the poster was asking about something more relevant, how did the left keep changing, ignoring, discarding, and passing laws to bring on this situation.
The left has been fighting evictions and owner rights since at least the 70s.
They wouldn’t be who and where they are without big egos, indomitable spirits, and thick hides.
I don’t hate DeSantis. I’m simply voting for Trump.
BTTT
All of which is not relevant to the situations today where someone moves in and if they are there more than a month, you’re out of luck.
Besides, even the pioneers knew that if someone built a house that someone had to have owned the land at one time. It would behoove them to find out whose it was before investing their lives in it just to have the true owner show up and claim it.
If you put that kind of work into it without making sure you had clear title to it, you are a fool.
It’s HARDLINE! Damn him, representing the interests of greedy homeowners over the humble, impoverished SQUATTERS!

Lovely picture painted, however...
An absolutely awful attempt at an analogy and completely, unrelated to the contemporary topic at hand.
“That’s our loss, not his.”
His loss too, as most Trump voters will have memories of him in 2024. Doesn’t mean we won’t vote for him, but he made that performance a factor that he’d be far better off without.
Well, I’m a strong Trump supporter and still consider DeSantis “righteous” because throughout his governorship he has WALKED THE WALK and continues to do so.
Let squatter wannabes leave Florida and go squat in New York or California. Or better yet, Martha’s Vinyard… there’s lots of vacant properties in the off season.

Can’t disagree with that. At least now he’s learned who NOT to listen to.
