Trump Rails Against Judge, Daughter Following Gag Order In NY Criminal Case: ‘An Acute Case Of Trump Derangement Syndrome’
Daily Wire ^ | Mar 27, 2024 | By Amanda Prestigiacomo

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday railed against Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing a New York criminal case against the former president, for issuing a gag order.

Under Merchan’s order, Trump is restricted from speaking about those testifying against him, including former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and porn star Stormy Daniels, who claims she had a sexual encounter with Trump before he was president.

“Judge Juan Merchan, who is suffering from an acute case of Trump Derangement Syndrome … has now issued another illegal, un-American, unConstitutional ‘order,’ as he continues to try and take away my Rights,” Trump posted to social media site Truth Social.

The real estate mogul also said that the judge’s daughter “represents Crooked Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, and other Radical Liberals” and “posted a picture of me behind bars,” which Trump said “makes it completely impossible for me to get a fair trial.”

As reported by CNBC, the judge’s daughter, Loren Merchan, was or currently is an executive at Authentic Campaigns, a progressive political consultant that works for various Democratic clients, including President Joe Biden. Notably, Judge Merchan donated to Biden’s presidential campaign against Trump in 2020.

Trump continued his post on Tuesday, writing, “This Judge, by issuing a vicious ‘Gag Order,’ is wrongfully attempting to deprive me of my First Amendment Right to speak out against the Weaponization of Law Enforcement, including the fact that Crooked Joe Biden, [Attorney General] Merrick Garland, and their Hacks and Thugs are tracking and following me all across the Country, obsessively trying to persecute me, while everyone knows I have done nothing wrong!”

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who brought the case against Trump, claims the former president falsified business records related to payments he made before the 2016 election from Cohen to Daniels. Trump has pleaded not guilty to the 34 counts brought by Bragg’s office and denied claims that he ever had a relationship with Daniels.

The trial is scheduled to begin on April 15, despite efforts from Trump’s legal team to delay over a recent document dump. Bragg claimed the overwhelming majority of the 200,000 or so pages of documents recently turned over by the Southern District of New York are not relevant to his prosecution of Trump, and therefore the trial should not experience additional delays.

Counterproductive. Just because he’s right on the point, doesn’t mean that acting in this way is in his benefit.

So you’re advocating for the “W” Bush strategy, bend over and like it?

Is anyone restricted from speaking about Mr. Trump?

Hmmmmm?

Yeah ... didn't think so.

Right. You are a loyal supporter of President Trump as long as he doesn't say anything you don't approve of.

Question: don't you GOPe types ever fight back? Ever?

Didn’t his daughter post a picture of Trump in jail? If so, Merchan needs tor recuse himself.

Wow. And to think, half the country is ecstatic about these facts. This is not justice and this is not America.

I clearly did say not he should bend over and take it. I simply said this manner of response is counterproductive. That means in the long run it will cause more harm than good, for those with a reading comprehension problem.

Nobody else acts this way, because it’s counterproductive. Just because Trump does it doesn’t make it right, or smart. It just makes it more likely he will be found guilty, and/or fines will be absurdly excessive. That may very well be his plan, to draw more sympathy, and to a point it has worked. But at some point people start to realize a lot of his problems may be self inflicted.

The Bush’s, McCain’s and Romney’s capitulate and you smile. Conservatives fight back and you get the vapors.

Go away, Walking Eagle.

Golden Eagle is one of the most staunch Trump haters in the forum. “Milquetoast” is actually him at his best, relatively speaking.

Fighting back should include being smart about it. What was the winning method in the Revolutionary War, what the British did, by marching into battle in the open field, while banging on drums, to attract as much attention to themselves as they possibly could? Or what the Americans did, by couching their moves and positions? Trump can keep banging his drums if he wants, but it is only going to cost him in the courtroom. You can’t tell me he couldn’t have possibly crafted a better tweet than that, no matter what he was trying to accomplish.

I’m not a Trump hater at all, I’m actually planing on voting for him. And I’m actually trying to help, because it doesn’t take a genius to know this type of self destructive behavior is part of the reason he is continually losing in the courts, and garnering record fines.

Some people are simply incapable of ever admitting anything he does isn’t perfect. Some people have literally never said one word critical of him their life. Literally. I’m not saying you, because I’ve seen you do it many times, although more in the past. But those that are incapable of doing anything but sling insults when Trump missteps, are the enablers of the mistakes.

Trump: "Hey Don Jr and Ivanka, go out to Truth Social and post this about Stormy Daniels and Cohen, I'm restricted, so technically I can't post it, myself..."

Free Republic is about debate, not subservience to a king, or dictator, or even a President. If you have reasons why you think this tweet was smart, or somehow actually ‘fighting back’ in a productive way, let’s hear it. I’m open to good ideas and arguments, always, not closed minded or wanting to see people banned for having an opinion, because I’m smart enough to know I’m not always right. Thanks.
