U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres has declared reparations are due now to compensate for the trans-Atlantic slave trade as a way to tackle “its legacy” in today’s society, including “systemic racism and white supremacy.”
In a statement to mark the U.N. International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery, Guterres said the past “laid the foundations for a violent discrimination system based on white supremacy.”
“We call for reparatory justice frameworks to help overcome generations of exclusion and discrimination,” Guterres said.

Well just FedGov debt is $35 trillion plus a $2 trillion deficit plus unfunded liabilities of at least $175 trillion.
This makes for a debt to income ratio of around 900%, that is if income means taxing everyone at 100% of their income.
Now we will add a few more trillion dollars in debt to pay people reparations.
By the way the Soviet external debt at the time it crashed was $66 billion with a GDP of $2.66 trillion.
It only took three years for the Soviet Union to go from having the 2nd largest GDP in the world to not existing at all.
The purpose of reparations is to fan the flames of the racial division needed to destroy the freedom (read: meritocracy) of Western civilization.
In fact, the minorities demanding equality will never achieve equality by demanding it. They are just being used as tools to establish a Marxist dictatorship.
Once that dictatorship is in place, those minorities creating the racial division will be shoved back down to the bottom of the ladder.
The only hope minorities ever had for success was the freedom offered by Western Civilization. If they worked hard enough and smart enough, they would, like millions before them, rise above their humble origins.
But in a Marxist dictatorship, they are destined for even greater poverty. If they achieve any "equality," it will be an equal share of abject poverty.

The slaves went where there was money to be made using slave labor. Although really cheap now, sugar used to be the real money maker. Trouble is, sugar cane is a crop that needs lots of attention in both growing and processing. Perfect for slavery because to justify the cost of a slave, the slave must produce value virtually every day. So the slaves went to places where sugar and other ‘fussy’ cash crops could be grown.
North America was limited by soil and climate for sugar, so relatively few slaves were imported here. Whitney’s invention of the cotton gin made cotton a ‘fussy’ high-value cash crop, but soon after its invention, the importation of slaves to the U.S. was outlawed.
