A male volleyball coach at an all-girls New York high school took his own life by stepping in front of a train after being accused of raping a 15-year-old player, officials said.
Jason Maser, 22, was a part-time coach at the Sacred Heart Academy on Long Island when he allegedly raped the teen victim on at least two occasions in his vehicle on February 7 and March 7, the New York Post reported.
After being arraigned on third-degree rape and criminal sex charges and released on $75,000 bail Friday morning, news broke out of the disturbing accusations.

I worked with a gal whose husband did the same thing. She was our City’s Finance Director, and he was a Middle School teacher. She was quite the looker and he was pretty studly and both were in their early 30’s. The story goes that he had been having affairs with several of the staff and 8th grade girls. When he got busted, the school put him on administrative leave and his cover story to his wife was that he was sick and couldn’t go to work. When the Sheriff’s Deputies arrived to question him about the young girls he went into his bedroom and shot himself.
The train crossing is about a mile from my house. I’m surprised this is national news.
Usually suicide invalidates life insurance policies anyway, so it wasn’t likely they would pay regardless of his employment status.
I knew a teacher who put a gun to his head to stop the harassment from the cops and lawyers. Most of his students didn’t believe the allegations. The girl admitted she’d lied after he ended himself and not a thing was done about her horrible lies or the cops.
What could possibly go wrong?
Well ... on three different occasions, female students "came on" to me.
But that was back when adults knew how to be adults, and not mess with the kids. Therefore, what "could have gone wrong" didn't. Today's "adults" all too often don't know how to be adults.
Good ending? Was he guilty or falsely accused?
My 10 year old is in gymnastics, there are a group of girls being (14,15,16) being coached by 2 guys, they often use their hands to guide the girls through the moves. Looks to me like an accident waiting to happen.
He must have threatened her to get ger to get in his car a second time.

I also find these details ‘interesting’. He’s accused of raping the girl twice, a month apart in his car. Statutory rape? Fine, as a teacher/coach he should have known better; definitely a predator.
After he threatened me and I told him it was a lie (we weren't even alone--it was a double date), she fessed up to the fact that she was just trying to make him jealous.
My point is that immature kids sometimes say things that just aren't true. And such lies can sometimes lead to dangerous unintended consequences.

That’s usually the best time to write a suicide note.
I’ve worked with a couple people that, if not dead, were at least in a vegetative state.
The fact it happened at least twice tells me there is more to this story than just straight-up rape.
Twice in his car? Sounds like he had an underage girl. But not forced. Either way his life was ruined.
