Hell on Earth. Washington, DC, Possibly Sometime in the Near Future
A 1-megaton thermonuclear weapon detonation begins with a flash of light and heat so tremendous it is impossible for the human mind to comprehend. One hundred and eighty million degrees Fahrenheit is four or five times hotter than the temperature at the center of the sun.
In the first fraction of a millisecond after the bomb strikes the Pentagon, there is light. Soft X-ray light with a very short wavelength. The light superheats the surrounding air to millions of degrees, creating a massive fire-ball that expands at millions of miles per hour. Within seconds, this fireball increases to a diameter of a little more than a mile, its light and heat so intense that concrete surfaces explode, metal objects melt or evaporate, stone shatters, humans instantaneously convert into combusting carbon. The five-story, five-sided structure and everything inside its 6.5 million square feet of office space explodes into superheated dust; all 27,000 Pentagon employees perishing instantly.
Not a single thing in the fireball remains. Nothing. Ground zero is zeroed.

Now, that was a good one!
It would be an accident, that beotch Carmen can’t get anything right. Past that I don’t see it happening, why would any of our enemies do US citizens a favor?
A great start
Anybody seen the TV show Jericho? It’s what keeps me up at nights these days. That, and Designated Survivor. Both scenarios that I could well imagine happening in this current reality we’re faced with.
How delicious.
Them and cockroaches nothing kills them.
As was Lionel Mandrake.
Hopefully it would be completely obliterated.
That’s not any different than it is now.
Throw in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland and Seattle and you’ve got a deal. The rest is mop-up.
A lot of problems would be solved?
Yes.
Inspector Clouseau and his litter yellow friend too…
“What would happen to Washington, DC if attacked by a nuclear bomb?”
Depends on whether Congress is in session.
Schadenfreude?
Just clip the wings a little on one side. The corkscrew will insure our message hits hard.
“...humans instantaneously convert into combusting carbon”
Now THAT is bad. All those bodies converting to CO2. Think of the climate! Al Gore would be really hacked off about that.
We saw Olivia Newton-John there, early 80s. She was fantastic. It was a great venue. Too bad they closed it down.
The loss of key documents would be the tragedy.
I disagree
Your chances of survival are about zip.
Assuming that one in four of their strategic nuclear weapons gets through, the Russians will have one bomb per congressional district (about 750,000 people).
For Washington DC area, 900 sq miles, thats about 9 bombs. One bomb for every 10 miles x 10 miles.
For New York there would be 25 bombs, Chicago 13, Dallas Ft Worth, 11. Just for Oregon about 6 bombs
Philadelphia Boston San Francisco 6 7 or 8 each
The number of deaths would be over a hundred million. Half the cops and firemen gone. Half the docs and nurses gone. The number of people with severe burns, in the scores of millions. Then dead from radiation disease, in the scores of millions. The power grid would be gone, Transportation and communications would be gone. Production Distribution Retailing etc., gone.
Starvation would follow. Probaly 2/3rds of the population would be wiped out.
Im glad the NYPost ran this, although it grossly understates what would ahppen.
The Russians have said they would use atomic weapos if they felt they faced an existential threat. The establishment of BOTH of our parties demand Regime Change in Russia. If we win we will be dead.
We are run by war mongering deat cult fools.
