Missing student Riley Strain’s body found in Nashville river

The body of missing University of Missouri student Riley Strain has been found in a Nashville river after he went missing leaving a country bar earlier this month, authorities said.

“The body of Riley Strain was recovered from the Cumberland River in West Nashville this morning, approximately 8 miles from downtown,” the Metropolitan Nashville Police wrote on X.

His body was found in the Cumberland River near 61st Avenue North around 7:30 a.m. Friday, news station WKRN reported.

No foul play is suspected, but an autopsy has been scheduled, police said.

Strain was visiting the Music City with his Delta Chi fraternity brothers when he vanished leaving country star Luke Bryan’s honky-tonk bar, Luke’s 32 Bridge, on March 8.

The 6-foot-7 finance major purchased one alcoholic drink and two drinks of water during his visit, according to TC Restaurant Group — the operator and owner of Luke’s 32 Bridge.

The bar shared that security made the decision based on their “conduct standards” after they noticed Strain’s behavior and then escorted him from the venue through our Broadway exit at the front of our building” at 9:35 p.m.

“He was followed down the stairs with one member of his party. The individual with Riley did not exit and returned upstairs.”

Strain told his friends he would return to their room at the Tempo by Hilton, about five blocks from the bar.

However, Strain was seemingly captured crossing Gay Street at around 9:47 p.m. after leaving the bar — about a 17-minute walk from Luke’s 32 Bridge and in the opposite direction of the hotel, according to Nashville Police.

There have been quite a series of young men falling in rivers, harbors, bodies of water over the years.

These young men had been described as victims of “ The Smiley Face Killer”;
and upon investigation detectives have found smiley face(s) have bern found in the area proximal to where the young men drowned. There are a lot of victims, too; all young men.

The Smiley Face Killer(s) has been squelched and silenced in hopes deyectives can pin down someone and ferl useing that moniker provides added publicity and attention for the killer.

All this info can be found by researching “Smiley Face Killer”.
You will also see there is a multitude of young male victims who fit a certain profile. To this date no female has been a victim, its all young men.

Here in Vermont in Feb/ Mar of 2009, the 19 yo Nicholas Garza went missing walking from one dorm to another at Middlebury College . He eventually was found in Otter Creek, near to the college in May of 2009.

Here in San Antonio we don’t even try - people fall in the San Antonio River downtown pretty frequently.

Yes, I have to wonder if one of Riley's frat brothers gave him a pill or spiked his drink as a prank and then let him wander into fatal trouble. If that is so, with a body and an autopsy pending, the cops ought to be able to crack the case pretty quickly.

My guess is that the boys will soon lawyer up and start singing to get the best treatment they can as individuals. The continued existence of the bar and the fraternity are also on the line. A high profile death connected to them is not good for business and raises a prospect of criminal and civil liability.

“Maybe they need fences from keeping drunks from falling into the river.”

You’re observant. I see a lawsuit here. Like a democrat said in Chicago:

You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.

Many homeless are beyond law and civilization. Most are bums who view society antagonistically. They hate it and the people within it. They make them feel bad about themselves, reminding them of all the poor, failed choices they made. We’re not talking about homeless vets here but highly anti-social, hostile drug addicts, sociopaths and psychotics.

The homeless used to be run out by posses for good reason.

I can see that but very different rivers size wise

He likely wanderered down by the river intoxicated from booze and fell in unable to stay afloat or get back up on the bank

If there was foul play it’ll show up at autopsy

Something significant beyond booze will be found on toxicology

Till then it’s intoxicated kid fell into fairly sizable river and drowned

Sad for his folks

His cards may have been in his top pocket etc like mine are and floated to the bank

He could have been assaulted by dope campers

That is a possibility but less likely than the fell into water theory here

It happens here in Nashville and elsewhere

"A drunk guy fell in the river. RIP."

Possibly. But, he may have been rolled first. His bank card was not in his pocket when his body was found eight miles away. The card had been found days ago by volunteers searching for clues. It was found in a trashy area next to the river. So, for whatever reason, he and his bank card were separated. That's kinda suspicious.
