Half of all New Yorkers will flee city in next 5 years as quality of life plummets post-pandemic: poll

Just half of all New Yorkers plan to stay in the city over the next five years, and anger over quality of life has skyrocketed since the pandemic — with just 30% saying they’re happy here, according to a damning poll from the The Citizens Budget Commission.

The non-profit think tank’s first such post-pandemic survey, released Tuesday, also found that only 37% of New Yorkers thought public safety in their neighborhood was excellent or good, down from 50% six years ago.

When asked if they planned to stay in the Big Apple until 2028, only 50% of those surveyed said yes, down from 58% in 2017, according to the CBC.

Half of the 6,600 households polled also said they felt unsafe riding the subway during the day, a drastic reduction from the more than four out of five New Yorkers who said so in 2017.

New York’s economy is business, banking, media, international trade and the stock market. They have made it the once the most successful city in the USA. That day is gone thanks to politics.

In the sixties Detroit, Michigan was the most prosperous city in the USA due to the auto industry. Detroit got behind the curve of engineering excellence in autos and the local government became left wing crazy just like New York today. Today Detroit is a hell hole of crime and poverty. The average price of a house in Detroit is $68,379. https://www.zillow.com/home-values/17762/detroit-mi/ It is a hell hole is the reason for this price.

Note to my Yankee conservative friends. You are welcome in Texas. I will even teach you how to shoot on my private gun range at my house. I doubt I can help you with that Yankee accent but that is okay. Note to Yankee liberals, move to California, Oregon, Washington State, or Illinois.

As New York becomes less and less friendly to business they will leave as they are now doing. The worldwide communication network via the internet makes a centralized local such as New York no longer essential as can be said for the stock market, media and banking. Oddly due to geographcal location next to East Coast high population centers will insure New York will always be a trade center for good moving in and out of the East Coast.

Detroit is a harbinger of what New York will become.
