As America closes in on a major election, mistrust is brewing around the mysterious government entity that’s now denounced in scary-sounding terms — “the deep state” and “the swamp.” What do those words even mean? Who exactly do they describe?
We went on a road trip to find out. As we met the Americans who are being dismissed as public enemies, we discovered that they are … us. They like Taylor Swift. They dance bachata. They go to bed at night watching “Star Trek” reruns. They go to work and do their jobs: saving us from Armageddon.
Sure, our tax dollars pay them, but as you’ll see in the video above, what a return on our investment we get!
When we hear “deep state,” instead of recoiling, we should rally. We should think about the workers otherwise known as our public servants, the everyday superheroes who wake up ready to dedicate their careers and their lives to serving us. These are the Americans we employ. Even though their work is often invisible, it makes our lives better...
But if Donald Trump is re-elected and enacts Schedule F, that could change. He would have the power to eviscerate the so-called deep state and replace our public servants with people who work for him, not us.
In the video above, you’ll meet a few of our hard-working American public servants, and we hope you’ll agree that they’re not scary at all. In fact, they’re kind of awesome.

“It’s Afraid”
This is the sort of thing big utility companies used put out when they knew they were going to face public hearing over an unpopular rate increase. “Teach the people how good we are and how much we do for them.”
I think they have being seeing what Javier Milei has been doing in Argentina and are getting worried Trump might be President and do the same.
Hey, wait! I do that!
You only have to find out where "Bob" lives...
And also, identify the ONES WHO GIVE THE ORDERS to Bob for attention. Them first, then Bob.
The old “they’re all public servants” lie.
They absolutely believe it, 100%. For progressives, bureaucracy is the final stage. They have achieved the pinnacle of existence.
What the Slimes is doing here is trotting out one or a few people from some bureaucracy and using them as a prop. But the real target of protection is the agency behind it and they're all the same, be it the EPA, FDA, FBI, don't matter. All agencies must continue to exist, progressivism requires it.
They are happily morphing into masters.
I think the authors are deliberately missing the point. No one has a problem with public servants working for us on our behalf. The problem is that they are working for themselves and see Trump as a threat to their livelihood and power and during his term did everything possible to thwart the man that we the people elected.
When the President’s values align with the ‘deep state’ bureaucracy, they are more than willing to do his bidding. It has nothing to do with working ‘on the peoples’ behalf.
It's not like that at all.
I've worked with these people. These are people who come fresh out of indoctrination camps(sometimes called "universites" and "college") and they are HARDCORE believers. They are going to force you, they're going to force me, they're going to force anybody.
And they get to force for life. Nothing makes them happier. Force is bliss.
Nothing is more offensive than these people than the idea that they could have some corporate job than a government job. So the pay is probably higher, so what? It doesn't come with any power at all.
They seek the power, screw the money. It's so seductive to have power, that much power, and they cannot get it any other way.
"Nothing is more offensive to these people than the idea that they could have some corporate job than a government job."
It sounds like these two “Deep State” NYT twerking pixies “got outta the boat”.
Thanks for posting that.
I never heard that perspective before.
Sadly, it makes a LOT of sense.
Fat, stupid, drunk, horny bureaucrats trying to convince us they’re not fat, stupid, drunk and horny.
I'm sure they love the power, but don't forget the lifetime pensions. You don't get those in the private sector anymore.
Maybe NYT published this a bit early. April 1st is only 12 days away.
Yes they are scared. They are terrified of a President who represents ordinary people, rather than elites.
It seems that the times is not big on constitutional republics. I wonder how they would like a conservative deep state.
I mean it should be okay as long as they watch Star Trek and Taylor Swift, right?
in an individualist society they are public servants
in collectivism
the state is primary
the “public servants” serve the state
The Deep State does not think they work for the people of the United States. Contrary to the Constitution and in spite of us having an elected government in the President and Congress, as well as a judiciary appointed by them, the Deep State thinks and acts as if THEY - not our elected officials - are the government, and quite factually the majority of them have greater length in office than any elected official.
They are still primarily henchmen to the deep elite swamp rulers - the sick, (x)illionaire pedophiles, warmongers, sadistic chessplayers who think they can manipulate everyone from Mount Olympus.
