Viktor Orban: Trump said he would force Ukraine to stop fighting Russia
The Washington Examiner ^ | March 11, 2024 | Joel Gehrke

Former President Donald Trump intends to end the war in Ukraine by ending the military assistance that Ukrainian forces require to fight Russia’s invasion, according to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

“He has a very clear vision that is hard to disagree with. He says the following: first, he will not give a single penny for the Russo-Ukrainian war,” Orban told Hungarian state media. “That’s why the war will end, because it’s obvious that Ukraine cannot stand on its own two feet.”

Orban offered that prognostication after returning to Budapest from the United States, where he met with American conservatives at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., and visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman allowed that “it is not clear” what Trump’s plan might be, but he welcomed Pope Francis’s suggestion that Ukraine show “a white flag” in a bid for peace.

Gee, President Trump said that, wow!

Interestingly, President Trump also said this:

Trump highlights praise from Orbán after Biden criticizes meeting

Former President Trump highlighted praise from Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in social media posts Sunday night, shortly after President Biden criticized Trump...

Trump, the only remaining GOP candidate running for president in 2024, promoted a video from the Hungarian...

Ten Hours Ago.

During the 60s:

Did you ever have a’ polite’ conversion in Russian with KGB agents?

Did you ever have to watch the clock when a certain Russian radar became active and count the next 15 seconds which you might live or might die?

Did you ever have to face 4 Russian Shock Armies and 35,000 tanks less than 12km away?

Did you ever have to listen, record, translate Russians dying, on the ground and in space?

Did you ever see people trying to cross from East Germany being machine gunned, torn apart by attack dogs?

Did you ever see the clean up of 20 Russia kids machine gunned for the ‘crime’ of listening to Western music?

Whatever you think you know, you don’t. Dealing with Russians directly is not a textbook exercise.

Soviet Doctrine - you trained; I lived it.

Un huh - several pro-Putin people have claimed the same things, in almost the same words, over multiple treads, for the past 2 years. Is it some boiler plate they make you memorize in St Petersburg, Russia?

“...Clear vision of the Russian pausing to digest Ukraine then moving on to digest the Baltics, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungry ( sorry Vic ), Romania, Moldova, and half of Germany. Russian borders stop where they say they do...”

I have heard others say much the same. But a close read of the meetings, conferences and negotiations going on in the past years leading up to the war, there is no indication Russia wants what you describe. The old USSR certainly did. I think Trump could well bring peace to Europe.

Yes, it was a mistake for Putin to invade, big-time. But it was also a mistake for Obama to make Ukraine a client state of the US and manipulate their governmental affairs including an election.

Spain, the Netherlands and France helped up win the war against Britain. There is nothing wrong with “asking” for help.

We are just under no obligation to help if we don’t think it in in our best interest. I think reasonable people can disagree on whether this would be in our best interest.

I don’t see supporting Trump, if it helps the Russians overrun Ukraine.

You and millions of other people will make the exact same decision.

If Trump is really planning on withdrawing support for Ukraine then every Democrat and media outlet will immediately say "we told you so, Trump is a Russian puppet" like they tried to do in 2016.

I can't think of many things that would be worse politically for Trump, except maybe recruiting Liz Cheney or Nikki Haley as his running mate.

Your FReeper born-on date has little to do with it and doesn't automatically give you a pass on a DUmb post. I'm sure there are still some closet DUmpster divers who remain within the ranks....so figured perhaps you were another troll coming out of the closet (like moths any time Trump can be used to fuel an agenda), but especially so since you automatically expect Trump to continue to fund the Ukrainian-CIA money pit.

You already picked the guy who kisses little boys on the stomach, Putin. And the guy who is starting wars all over the world, and the guy who probably gave Hamas the green light to attack Israel on October 7th.

That's your guy, supporting Iran, supporting Hamas, and supporting the Houthis.

One thing I know as a professional is the Russian army and Russian diplomacy.

So presumably you knew how weak their military really was. Why didn't you ever blow the whistle on all of the fake stories about how powerful they were? Was your pension that important?

Fid you retire with over 38 years, with the Army, NAVY/USMC, VA, State Department? Two can live it.

You probably played the music, si senor?

If you weren’t Biden lapdog, your experience might be entertaining. But did you actually get your hands on someone and capture a freight adversary? Or actually see the bullet you fired kill someone. My old regrets are passing a few libturds who double crossed me and let ne hanging across the line. But you can be sure it took over 30 years to not want to pay then back in the manner they tried on me.

It always pissed me off when other veteran’s tell me “Thanks for your service”... so thanx;)

You and I see Biden’s corrupt Projek Ukraine differently.

My guess is you are a McCain, Rubio, McConnell republican and I am a Trump conservative.

I guess Biden gets your straight party ticket in November... not me.

To force Ukraine to stop fighting Russia? I am laughing out laud!

You don’t know Trump apparently...

Don’t forget that Trump is the one who pushed NATO-members to increase their spendings for their own respective armies to at least 2%.

Trump was a true interventionist in foreign countries when he was President.

Lets not forget the 300 Russian troops he massacred in Syria.
https://themedialine.org/headlines/pompeo-us-killed-300-russians-in-syria/

He eradicated ISIS,

He leveled a Russian/Syrian military air-base with 59 Tomahawks (Tucker went mad on Trump on this... on his live Foxnews show).

Trump assassinated Iranian military leaders, with Smart bombs

He also assassinated scores of Islamic terrorist leaders.

Trump also reacted with a lot of toughness after Russian military officials incentivized the killing of American troops in Afghanistan by paying bounties to Taliban fighters for every American soldier killed.

Tump was a Reaganesque interventionist in foreign countries.

He even said that he would NEVER had abandoned Americas airbases in Afghanistan.

And he gave the mission to US troops to “take the oil” in Syria.

Trump also sent shiploads of high-tech US weaponry to Ukraine.
He was also the one who initiated massive sanctions against Russia.

Trump expelled 60 Russian diplomats from America.

And the list goes on... and on.... and on...

His non-stop interventions in foreign countries helped secure Americas security. You may now think that Trump is a neo-con? Well yes he is, in his own very unique way. He understands security, THAT is what matters.
