I’d be all in for unlimited immigration as long as we get rid of welfare, food stamps, free school meals and you either pay for a doctor visit and your own insurance or you do without.

Ponder that, while looking at the Them vs Us concerns. Broadly, we are concerned about things that are real-high taxes, bias, censorship, and so on.
They, however, are worried about things that exist in their heads for the most part. They gin up that fear so it migrates increasingly to other peoples’ heads.
Parenthetically, both sides fear election tampering-it’s the terminology that differs. Voter Suppression and Election Fraud are two sides of the same crime.
This is why every time I hear someone on the left/MSM call things Existential Crises, I think of Calvin and Hobbes.
