Property owners in Denver are being asked to rent their places out to migrants as the Colorado city shuts down four public-run shelters.
The Mile High City’s migrant services issued an email this week to property owners in the area seeking assistance in housing the city’s “newcomers” to get them out of shelters and into more stable housing.
“We put out a feeler to all the landlords we have connections with,” Jon Ewing from Denver Human Services told KDVR. “Basically said, listen, we’re going to have some newcomers who are going to need housing.”
The department’s email gauged the rental owners’ interest in opening their listings to the city’s migrants, but at a budget.
“We’ve got kind of a rent cap — $2,000,” Ewing added.

$2,000 monthly rent? Heck, that’s more than enough for a one way airline ticket back home and some extra for a little walking around money, right?
I’d want 6 months rent up front, then. But they’ve probably made THAT illegal, too. ;)
I’d still sell before it was too late.
As admirable as it seems (foster homes), many do it for the gov. cash.
...and like any other gov. entity...abuse of the system (and in this case, the kids) always a possibility.
It's a sanctioned invasion...for what purpose (other that to turn the U.S. into a 3rd world sh thole)...business wants the cheap labor, democrats want the votes, churches want parishioners, enemies(foreign oligarchs) want us dead(China/Russia/other)...
"Never let a serious crisis go to waste"
...works best when you also create...the crisis(cough...covid).
And face it, "good people" don't seem to stand up for ANYTHING anymore...so any evil you can think of, is already in the works.
Rent or we will condemn the property due to a sudden unsafe condition.
How many of Denver’s politicians have taken migrants into THEIR homes?
How about housing a few 100 at the statehouse.
Problem is: Once you (as an idiot) agree to house these migrants you will NEVER EVER get rid of them.
Re: Squatter in New York whom property owners cannot get rid of:
“Why can’t squatters like Brett Flores get evicted, and how did it get to this point”
Similar situation in Los Angeles where an AirBNB renter decided to stay on - without paying - for over a year, owes $58,000 and tied up the owner’s property.
In lefty states, the laws are on the side of the squatters.
liberals are a demanding lot demanding a lot. remember friends “conservatives seek agreement while liberals demand compliance” L.Star
Wait until you try to evict them.
those landlords will get first months rent and that will be all.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
The response should be “Sure- but first i want it in writing that the gov pay 15 times the going rate for rent to cover the imevitable costs of minor repairs, and when, not if, the home is nearly compeltely destroyed, I want the gov to build me a new home more than double what the previous home was worth in thr current market, and kick the illegals who destroyed the home out of the country.
And I want gov to pick up the tab for me and family to move into a new home worth twice what my home was worth, and when the failed experiment of allowing illegals to infest our nation, and live rent free in other people’s homes works itself into a frazzle, and liberals start to wise up and wanr to keep our nstion safe by outlawing illegal invasions again, i get to say “told ya so!!”

The same thing happened to a friend of mine. He decided to open part of his home up as an AirBNB. A guy rented it for a week, then decided he wouldn’t be leaving. And he wouldn’t be paying any more rent. But he would be inviting friends over for parties.
The police were called. Sorry, my friend was told. It’s a civil matter. You’ve got to go through the courts.
My friend finally paid the squatter to leave. I didn’t ask how much. I didn’t want to embarrass him.
Hey, bro. I hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
I want to know where I can get one of those undocumented drivers licenses. I hear they come with a $10,000 Visa card.
those landlords will get first months rent and that will be all.

Then the tenants become Squatters.
I’m sick of these illegal invaders being called “migrants.” These people are illegal aliens who aren’t caravanning across dusty fields with wagons to seek a better life. They are trafficked by taxpayer-funded NGOs to the southern border and then spread across this country to even communities who don’t want them, and also at taxpayer expense.
Ha! The behavior of the "newcomers" is so bad that they had to close the shelters, but they want the property owners to take them in at perhaps discount prices no less.
Amendment 3 to the Constitution
No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.[5]
How about Jon Ewing from Denver Human Services put 5 ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS in each of his spare bedrooms, and clear out his home office and put 5 more in there as well?
“My friend finally paid the squatter to leave. “
I wonder why you couldn’t accidentally leave the door open and a stray pitbull happen to accidentally come inside?
“””“Basically said, listen, we’re going to have some newcomers who are going to need housing.” “””
It is AWESOME that NEWCOMERS is the new catch phrase for INVADERS.
