This whole discussion inevitably descends into retardation. Give the VP that kind of discretion, and you will have Kamala Harris disqualifying electoral votes from South Dakota and Wyoming in January 2025 because some dude from a Cheyenne or Sioux reservation will claim that he wasn't allowed to vote.

He lies. Has been lying for years. I’ve told him how and why his thinking is foolish. But one more time for the record....
No one held a gun to Pence’s head and forced him to certify. Even if Child was right and the VP had a constitutional duty (he didn’t) Pence still could have opted out. Allowed Patrick Leahy to step in and stab Trump in the back.
So the real point, which A/Child refuses to acknowledge, is that Pence WANTED to eff over Trump. Just as any democrat or RINO would.
Go ahead and believe Pence had a constitutional duty, but also believe and know he could have recused himself. Refused to do it. What Pence did is as bad as what Smith, Leticia and Fani are doing.
And it’s all by choice. Not law.
