Every problem we face is because Congress punted. Intentionally allowing Courts to decide. They want the President to determine when our border should be closed. 🙄

When was the trial that convicted him? The one in their minds does not count.

The liberals have deemed that Trump committed insurrection.
Liberal talking heads on cable TV news channels have deemed that Trump is guilty of said insurrection.
Because the liberal groupthink is that Trump committed insurrection, that is accepted as common knowledge on the liberal side of politics and commentary.

and there was also a 57 to 43 vote in the Senate. Since it takes 2/3 of the Senate to convict him and remove him from office, isn't that vote saying "Not Guilty"?

What does Raskin think Congress can do, pass a bill of attainder, pass an ex post facto law?
Anything Congress passes cannot apply directly to President Trump. Any law Congress passes must apply to future acts of Presidents if they think the President is currently excluded from the 14th amendment.

On second thought, Raskin is probably signaling that if Democrats retake the House, their first order of business will be to file an article of impeachment against President Trump to try to remove him in 2025 for insurrection.
