The Court holds that "[b]ecause the Constitution makes Congress, rather than the States, responsible for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates, we reverse."

It’s not electoral votes that are at stake in this case. It’s primary elections for convention votes for the presidential nomination.
I flipped over to CNN — ya know it behooves us to pay attention to our opponents — and I actually believe some of them were holding back actual tears. :-)
Seems like the nature of an attempted disqualification at a State or Federal level will be the next issue. Disqualifying a candidate with a guilty record is much different than disqualifying someone who has questionable, politically driven allegations.
Unknown.
Keith Olberman called for SCOTUS to be “dissolved “ 😂
The Electors, who vote in the actual Presidential Election, are chosen in each State by whatever means each State's Legislature decides. The elections you and I vote in are State elections. We aren't voting for President and Vice President, we are voting for a slate of Electors.
“Article II
....
SECTION 2. The President...may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices...”
I’m sure they’ll loudly complain, however, as it was a 9-0 ruling, they’re probably not gonna do much.
LOL, Olbermann is still around?
I recall him going apoplectic over the Scooter Libby pardon by George Bush, calling it the gravest Constitutional crisis in history. He was practically bursting a blood vessel.
The Glory and PRAISE go to GOD ALMIGHTY... To Him is our THANKS... GREAT DAY... I’m going to celebrate with a cup of coffee!!!!!
Colorado ruling elites are a disgrace to the Republic.
True that, except I'll add that it was written for farmers with no formal education of any kind.
Thanks, I’d heard that but forgotten....shades of the 17th amendment and not all bad. Citizens from top to bottom should still feel shame.
I’m on the opposiste end of the country, but it appears the one blue district is along the southern coast bordering NH and Mass. and is the main population center. Do they outnumber the wooded, sparser northern districts ?
The Election Predictions site currently awards those 3 northern districts to Trump. Is that consistent with past voting histories ?
Your input is appreciated.
My thought is that there is general panic and the constant e mails and texts and phone calls......... do something? do something? why don’t you get off your lazy asses and do something?
Well, the Colorado Democrat powers that be screwed around and did something. SCOTUS unanimously rubbed their noses in it.
In the Wise Latina’s concurring opinion, she made a thinly-veiled slam at Trump, calling him (obliquely) an “oath-breaking insurrectionist”.
What a fat tool she is. Really, puta? What trial was held, convicting him of what crime?
exactly!
Could be
Wondering if a scenario like the following is possible in which:
One of these rebel states decides just before the election that Trump is ineligible and no votes for Trump will be counted. D wins (Biden or whomever).
The new Red congress then refuses to accept their EC votes, eliminating a large chunk of D votes causing the designated D to lose the presidency.
I suspect none of the D states have the nerve to press this further, but TDS is alive and well.
