The Court holds that "[b]ecause the Constitution makes Congress, rather than the States, responsible for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates, we reverse."

Too many residents “from away” up here.
“Why would there not be paid moles or alphabet agencies here trying to disrupt? “
They legalized using government funds to do it not that long ago. So State and DOD are absolutely doing it.
“The unanimous ruling also overturns disqualification orders handed down by officials and judges in Maine and Illinois in recent weeks.”
i read the SCOTUS decision and that language was not included ... nonetheless, what you say it true, BUT it will NOT be automatic ... a plaintiff will still have to make an additional filing to overturn those finalized rulings ...
there’s also disqualification attempts PENDING in a DOZEN other states, but presumably because the decisions are pending, the courts themselves COULD throw those complaints out without additional action by plaintiffs ...
It’s the unanimous vote I find surprising. That’s like saying it was so obvious even the rubber stamps wouldn’t hold ink.
Ummm ... not to get too picky, but isn't this exactly what the USSC is supposed to do? That is, they're to decide the issue before them. Period. Why then the editorializing?
“Looks like the Maine Secretary of State has much deserved egg all over smug face this morning.”
hardly ... i heard that she said: “Oh, well. I tried.” (haha) ...
You might be right. We might be getting set up so that the government can take away our rights and declare martial law.
Crazy as it sounds and as sad as it makes me feel saying it, we are learning that thousands of Americans “were set up” on J6. If the government entities are willing to stage J6 to entrap Americans, then they are willing to do more so that they can justify taking away our rights.
True, some Americans were “violent” that day. However, we witnessed first hand the actual violence of the mostly peaceful summer of love (2020) and nothing has been done to the rioters.
This is good, but it is nowhere near as good as it should have been. This should have primarily been about due process being required first before penalties could be assessed, i.e., that someone accused of insurrection should have to have been arrested, tried and convicted of insurrection before they could be disqualified from holding office due to insurrection. Therefore, it does not shut the door on persons that the Dems (or any other group) do not like from being tossed off the ballot or worse for perceived crimes that they were not convicted of.
Whether a person “shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion” is a question of fact that only a judicial process should decide.
Congress might decide if the accused is guilty via impeachment but never by legislation.
See my post above and pray tell enlighten us as to how it is telling and indicative of my status as a paid shill. :P
Dissimilar in content but similar in enduring influence.

Yup
Colorado is a dangerous threat to the DemocRATS’ Marxist “democrazy”. They should do something about all their “mass shootings” before they start telling Americans who they can and can’t vote for. Colorado’s “newcomer” California miggies need to try to assimilate to the American way of life. They aren’t in Cauliphonya anymore.
Even “800 rounds a second” idiot Ketanji Jackson got a clue on this- her prior experience being a hack judge within DC who also could not answer “what is a woman”.. for political reasons superceding simple biology.
I regard the Brady Bill as an insurrection against our Constitution.
I believe Schumer and Biden are the only responsible people still holding federal elective office.
colorado court didn’t have the balls to defy:
1. they stayed their own ruling right out of the gate such that if trump appealed to scotus before our ballots were finalized his name would be on the primary ballot, which is what happened ... and in fact we already voted for trump and deposited our ballot, which will be counted tomorrow on supertuesday ...
2. they said votes for trump would subsequently NOT be counted ONLY if SCOTUS upheld their decision, which it didn’t ...
No but, the other side recognizes the effects of Mutually Assured Destruction, its madness and chaos
