Murkowski says she ‘could not’ vote for Trump or Biden
Breitbart ^ | 03/04/2024 | NICK ROBERTSON

Posted on 03/04/2024 6:30:09 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) said Saturday that she “could not” vote for either former President Trump or President Biden in the 2024 election, opening the door to third-party support as the candidates likely face off in a general election rematch.

Murkowski told NBC News that she “could not” vote for Trump, but added that, “I can’t vote for Biden.”

The moderate Republican endorsed Nikki Haley against Trump for the GOP presidential nomination on Friday, calling her someone with the “right values, vigor, and judgment to serve as our next President.”

But Haley faces a tough battle to challenge Trump for the GOP nomination, with Super Tuesday contests likely to put the race out of reach for the former U.N. ambassador.

Murkowski has long been a critic of Trump, being one of the few Republicans to vote to convict Trump in his 2021 impeachment. In December, she said Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric is “poisoning our country.”

Alaska has been purple for a heller long time. Look at the constituency; local state and federal union government workers, a needy native population, and crazily enough most commercial fisherman vote with the dems (go figure)

A men’s breakfast I attended 15 years ago 17/23 of the men there worked for one form of government or another)

Murkowski sucks. I friggin hate career political and generational politicians.

Trump still won the state by 10% in 2020, Alaskans pride themselves on being independent, sort of love giving the finger to all sorts-my cousins live up there and tell me that is the way it has always been, they really see themselves as different than all the other states

Any third party candidate (beyond traditional Libertarian) will likely help Trump and defeat Biden, because Trump has a solid lock on a near-majority block of voters anyway, so his routes to victory are

(a) hold on to 45% if two alternatives appear,

(b) increase the solid 45% to 55% in a head to head battle,

(c) do whatever is possible to minimize voting fraud in swing states.

Ronald Reagan did not defeat Jimmy Carter in 1980, John Anderson did. Bill Clinton did not defeat Bush in 1992, Ross Perot did. I think a moderate Republican or less lunatic democrat type of third party run would sink Biden, because all of their votes would come from soft Biden support.

And I also believe Trump probably won in 2020 anyway, at least four states were stolen from him. But once Trump gets to around 57% of popular support, even fraud won’t stop his third bid. Democrats know this and I presume their internal polling is indicating this sort of tidal wave is forming, like the 1984 Reagan or 1972 Nixon wins.

Paging the resident FR Republican Party worshipers!!! When I protested McCain and McRomney and dared to state I was considering not voting for these leftist turds I was called a purist, a one issue candidate, even that I supported the Democrats. I was lectured on party loyalty and how having legitimate grievances with a Republican candidate to the point of not supporting them was heresy!

Now the FR Republican Party is our club and god types in the form of the Kow are utterly silent on one of their saints declaring they can’t support the Republican nominee. The conservative base knows the Kow types, even on FR didn’t support Trump in 2016 or 2020 and will not in 2024. This time however, their betrayals have been noted and party loyalty can and is officially dead. So you party pukes no more condescending lectures from you about my duty to vote for your leftist GOP turds. You have destroyed the party with your lies, betrayals and liberal agenda(other than taxes and judges you are 1980’s Democrats.) After Trump the GOP is doomed.

And McConnell preferred Murkowski over the Alaska Republican Party's choice of Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Administration Kelly Tshibaka, spending $5.5 million in attack ads against her.

Any RINO who holds a seat in the senate is a POS, but their cross party line votes are not irrelevant.
