Typically if there was a breakdown in LE, the Sheriff would intervene. But Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez seems to be a lock-step Democrat liberal, so no help there.

The next bet would be if the governor would be willing to bail them out for their bad judgment by sending in the state police. Odds would favor them stewing in their own juices.

Austin and Travis County said “No” to Texas DPS assistance multiple times.

Abbott done did that.
