There’s an old Aesop fable that warns readers not to “nourish a viper in one’s bosom.”
According to the story, the viper will always turn around and bite its benefactor once it is strong enough.
It’s a lesson the New York Republican Party seems to be having some trouble grasping.
The party has chosen wealthy private security executive Mike Sapraicone as its preferred nominee to take on Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, despite his history of donations to liberal causes and Democrat candidates.
Sapraicone easily won the support of 84 percent of delegates at the state Republican convention on Thursday. Party leaders believe Sapraicone, a moderate, represents the GOP’s best chance to compete in deep blue New York,
records of Sapraicone’s political donations show concerning support for Democrats, including a $1,000 donation from his security firm Squad Security to New York Attorney General Letitia James.
...
James recently secured a conviction against former President Donald Trump on allegations that he inflated the values of his properties to secure more favorable loan terms. Indicting Trump, even on criminal charges, which could put him in jail, was a campaign promise of James,

Letitia James campaigned for attorney general in 2018 specifically on a promise of ‘Vote for me, and I’ll get Donald Trump.’ That’s not something she said once — she said it dozens of times, she said it in writing, she fundraised off it.
Campaign records also show that Sapraicone and his firm donated $150,000 to other Democratic candidates, including disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo

In New York a business is required to donate to democrat candidates. Trump himself donated to democrats. You either give them money or leave the state. Chicago is the same thing.
Never heard that Aesop tale but isn’t it like many RINOs we have known and not loved?
Murkowski yesterday endorsed Nikki Haley as a way to cement her refusal to back Trump.
After many males through the years said “We need a lot more women running for office as Republicans.”
We got some.
I don’t think that’s unusual, since Trump has often endorsed people were against him. His first Chief of Staff was Rance Priebus, and he endorsed Romney.
Didn’t Trump donate to ‘Rats in the [somewhat] distant past?
Politicians dress in all types of clothing...to include sheep’s.

Haven’t we all done similarly?
I can prob come up with a list in the hundreds of GOP backstabbers whom I’ve endorsed over the years.
I’m fairly gullible, maybe my experience is unique and off base?
Trump also has donated to democrats. Sorry FR Purists.
What about California?
Forget it, Jake - it’s New Jerk State.
Giving to both parties or neither is standard business in many places as the first reply accurately stated.
We’re still pure as the driven snow.
“After doing my due diligence in reviewing the 658-page impeachment report, I came to the conclusion that I could not in good conscience vote either yes or no,” Gabbard said
On the short list for VP!

Yep, like the mafia, no one has to ‘donate’ to the Democrats. But when they turn up full of bullet holes (or inspectors closing down their business), one cannot say that they weren’t warned.

Pus*y whipped Mama’s Boys will always pander to the feminists, even though very few of women can be relied upon to stay the course if the opportunity arises to feather their own nest. Inherently untrustworthy ever since one tempted poor Adam with that delicious apple!
New York is a lost cause.
“Trump also has donated to democrats. Sorry FR Purist”
Yes, he did. Now, so what? People can change. Many good conservatives used to be Democrats, even commies.
If the Party leaders believe Sapraicone is the man, run the other way. Anyone who would donate to those corrupt bastards is not for our movement.
