USPS Warns Not To Use Their Blue Mailboxes

When it comes to mailing letters, many people do it by dropping their envelopes in the United States Postal Service's blue collection bins placed in neighborhoods across America. However, the USPS is now warning would-be mailers that those blue boxes might not be the safest option.

In a press release, the Postal Service explained that unfortunately, the collection bins have become very attractive to thieves looking to steal identities or checks, especially at specific times and on specific days. The agency stated, "The biggest variable enticing these criminals to steal are customers depositing mail into blue collection boxes after the last collection of the day or during Sundays and federal holidays."

Just another trail-marker on the path of the decay of America.

My main post office in town now locks the opening to the
outgoing mail container, at all non-operational hours.

I used to drive down at 10 or 11 at night, to just get it
in the box.

No more...

Our civilization is cratering.

Sounds like the FBI needs to get of their lazy butts and set up some stings.

Rather than fighting the decay, we are adapting to it. I’ve noticed many examples over the years.

There were once nearly 200,000 blue mailboxes like the one below scattered throughout America.

They don’t want to pay the mailman to pick up the mail so they tell customers to not use the box.

So we non criminal citizens have to check the calendar and the time of day and furtively look around for thugs in order to use a common mailbox? I notice one new mailbox has a firm slot that doesn’t move in and out now. Must be to keep the nasty fingers of criminals out.

Don’t tell me America hasn’t fallen under the Dems.

In other words, check the collection times on the blue USPS collection boxes and drop your mail not far before those collection times, and never late at night or on days no collections are made from a box.

However, if everyone pursists in that, the thieves will likely change their activity to daringly raid the blue boxes in the last half hour before their last collection times. Likely they’ll even have a fraudulent USPS decal on their vehicle.

I always just include the post office on my daily errands when I must make a mail drop to them, which is not very often at all. They also have a blue box outside, but it is under an obvious surveilance camera.

I’m old enough to remember when they were all painted olive green. The idea of anyone messing with ‘The Post Office’ was almost beyond the Pale, since they could put you in prison for reusing a stamp, let alone messing with a mailbox.

Yes, the stench of decay is in the air.

I read a little while back that they are telling people not to send checks anymore, even if you take them inside to mail. I guess postal workers are stealing them. The corruption is spreading everywhere.

I thought that mail theft was worse than participating in a Fedsurection.

That's pretty much how I do it. Can't just put outgoing mail in the home mailbox and put the flag up, not for a long time around here.
