BREAKING! JUST IN: Supreme Court Sets Unusual Opinion Release For Monday Morning – Signals Ruling on Trump Ballot Eligibility is Looming

The Supreme Court is set to issue a ruling on Trump’s ballot eligibility after he challenged a decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to bar him from the 2024 primary ballot.

In December the Colorado Supreme Court disqualified Trump from the 2024 ballot.

All 7 Colorado Supreme Court justices were appointed by Democrats – 3 of the justices dissented to the ruling.

The legal theories are based on Section 3 of the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment which states public officials who have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the US may be disqualified from public office.

Trump has not been charged with engaging in insurrection or rebellion against the United States.

Oral arguments before the Supreme Court on Trump’s ballot eligibility wrapped in early February.

The Supreme Court expressed skepticism as they heard arguments from Colorado lawyer Jason Murray. Even the liberal justices expressed concern.

“Why should a single state have the ability to make this determination not only for their own citizens but for the rest of the nation?” Justice Kagan asked.

I am not sure what you mean. You are on point about the Left, though.

My guess is 7-2 or 8-1. If it’s 8-1, my guess is Sotomayor is the lone leftist extremist. If it’s 7-2, it’s Sotomayor & Jackson-Browne. I honestly think Kagan will be a voice of reason that joins the majority because she has moments of admirable intellectual honesty for which we can’t automatically lump her with others 😉

The issue was for the GE ballot, not the primary.

“The article you posted doesn’t even mention Bank of America...I don’t think going to a bank to get cell phone data would be productive.”

Bank of America Brian Monynihan and our government feel differently. Your government asked the bank and received cell phone location data from that bank in order to prosecute people who were in the area and not even in the building. Some of them are in prison right now. More have been identified to be charged in the future because of this data.

This does not affect the primaries. CO and the other states would kick Trump off only the GE ballot.

You’re mixing up geolocation data and banking data. They’re different.

Trump was President - how could he have an insurrection against himself?

Is that not what they are alleging?

it was obvious by the way the justices were questioning the lawyers which way they will rule.

not as obvious as you think. Sometimes justices will play devil's advocate. That said, yeah, I think they will rule against CO on this.

If it’s not 9-0 we’ll know who needs to go.
This decision will speak volumes.

If something is not accepted by the masses, they just change the wording.

i.e. Global Warming, Climate Change, etc.
There’s more changing but I can’t remember just what they were..

Her question also gets to the point of standing. a lot of the suits about election fraud were dismissed because one state AG (e.g Paxon-TX) didn’t have standing in a court of another state. In a national election, fraud in one state can affect the overall outcome of a national election.
