BREAKING! JUST IN: Supreme Court Sets Unusual Opinion Release For Monday Morning – Signals Ruling on Trump Ballot Eligibility is Looming

The Supreme Court is set to issue a ruling on Trump’s ballot eligibility after he challenged a decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to bar him from the 2024 primary ballot.

In December the Colorado Supreme Court disqualified Trump from the 2024 ballot.

All 7 Colorado Supreme Court justices were appointed by Democrats – 3 of the justices dissented to the ruling.

The legal theories are based on Section 3 of the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment which states public officials who have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the US may be disqualified from public office.

Trump has not been charged with engaging in insurrection or rebellion against the United States.

Oral arguments before the Supreme Court on Trump’s ballot eligibility wrapped in early February.

The Supreme Court expressed skepticism as they heard arguments from Colorado lawyer Jason Murray. Even the liberal justices expressed concern.

“Why should a single state have the ability to make this determination not only for their own citizens but for the rest of the nation?” Justice Kagan asked.

That’s why it will be 9-0.

That would be great news...

But SCOTUS has been so corrupted, one can no longer have any confidence they will do what is Constitutionally right.

That’s true - and I don’t think the ruling on immunity will be 9-0..

There is a huge difference between the two cases. In the case of removing a leading presidential candidate from the ballot, intuition works in Trump’s favor because it’s hard to justify Democrat judges in Colorado telling the people who they can and cannot vote for. It screams of anti-democracy. Any SC Justice who supports removing him will have to explain why that’s fair and why preventing voters from voting for who they want in any way strengthens democracy. It’s a tough sell and I doubt any of the Justices will fall on that sword.

in the case of Presidential immunity, intuition works against Trump, because it’s hard to argue with the cliche “no one is above the law”. There is good reason for presidential immunity, but the reason is subtle - and therefore I expect more dissent.

Depends if the SCOTUS rules against him.

Basic winning defense: A President cannot “insurrect” against his own government, which he heads.

Ballot eligibility? There’s no way SCOTUS rules against him - removing a leading candidate from the ballot is anti-democracy - SCOTUS will say let the voters decide. It’s slam dunk - Probably 9-0.

Now Immunity - that’s a different question - SCOTUS could rule against him on that because the “no one is above the law” cliché is too powerful. The nuanced intelligent justices that understand the Constitution will rule in his favor but he could lose that one 4-5.

But even without immunity, they still have nothing on him - he will win those cases on the merits - and more importantly - they will drop these cases after the election - if not sooner. The only purpose to these bogus indictments was election interference - they will be moot after 11/5.

In any case he won’t cut and run - that’s not his style.

“Because the Constitution makes Congress, rather than the States, responsible for enforcing Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment against federal officeholders and candidates, the Colorado Supreme Court erred in ordering former President Trump excluded from the 2024 Presidential primary ballot.”

Thank you, Dear God. Thank you. Praise be to you.

Presidents are not above the law, they are subject to the Legislature !

The President controls the law. So the law is subject to a President.

Immunity protects past Presidents from corrupt future Presidents

I understand that - I’m just doubt the leftist SC justices will see it that way.

I predicted a 9-0 ruling on the ballot case - which is exactly what we got.

The immunity case could go either way.
Fortunately, even without immunity they have no case.

Correct. We all know the 14th amendment was for the purpose of authorizing homosexual marriages.
