Exclusive — Gay Couple Weds at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago: ‘Beyond Our Wildest Dreams’
Breitbart ^ | 03/04/2024

Posted on 03/03/2024 7:38:04 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

It started out with a joke between them, as they were looking at wedding venues: “Can you imagine a wedding a Mar-a-Lago?”

The National Log Cabin Republicans, a pro-gay rights group, had hosted two galas at Mar-a-Lago before, once in 2020 and again in 2022, so they decided to see if it a wedding there would be “in the realm of possibility.”

The couple, John Sullivan and Dan Medora, reached out to good friends Bill White and Bryan Eure, who then reached out to former President Donald Trump and ran it by him. The next day, they got a call from a woman at Mar-a-Lago. “Can we talk about dates?” she said.

Trump isn’t a social conservative. He from New York City. He has been successful in hospitality, beauty pageants and in television. So, he has worked with creative people, many of whom are unusual in one way or another. Having said this, Trump knows that cities depend on law and order. He’s a tolerant, social liberal guy; but, he is also a tough, law and order guy. I’ll say one more thing: there’s a difference between being tolerant of people with different life-styles and pushing non-mainstream life-styles on others. Live and let live is one thing. Pushing the homosexual life-style and the transgender agenda onto school children is another.

I hope Trump feels about gays the way most people do. They’re individuals and judged as a person. Some people are the pits and whether you treat them politely or not, you know they’re not worth your time. That’s despite color, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. Some people are boring and you’re polite and forget them moments after your interaction stops. Some people have a warmth of character that delights the people around them. Even if they’re gay or of a different color or of a different religious position. Individuals. You like them or don’t like them because of who each one is, not because of what someone classifies them as. That’s the Trump I believe in.

The ability of true Trump supporters to turn themselves into pretzels is boundless

No, this was merely a slam-dunk chance for Trump to align with Christians and conservatives and stand for decency but he didn't want to get destroyed more than he already is.

We all know that gay marriage is a scam, it's mostly used for tax benefits, it irreparably harms the children, and neither partner in a gay relationship is faithful.

That's why rates of anal cancer and other anal related diseases and symptoms are skyrocketing.

“Well they hate his guts no matter what...”

Well, yes, but that would have been a tangible proof positive for them of his Hitlerian mind set.

Ted McCarrick types ruined the priesthood and leasership hierarchy American church.

They could take a powder from the GOP and we’d all be much better off.

For millennia, ruining everything they as a group touch. Like McDonalds and its hamburgers. Billions of souls lost or tarnished.

Good answer! This is not a hill I'm dying on. I'm almost to the point where I don't GAF. It's beyond my control, I've been pushed into a 75% Blue district, thanks in large part to Pubbies protecting their own seats in North Texas.

Demographics in North Texas are changed, thanks to "South Asians". They may be culture conservatives, but they are largely an unthinking mass when it comes to voting, i.e. voting Democrat. Give the average H-1B a task of performing tasks 1-100, and they're competent. Give them a task that requires critical thinking, and they're lost.

My district now stretches from North Irving/Coppell to Fort Worth, covering the SH 114 corridor. My votes only count for Cruz and Trump. My current state rep was one of the Democrats who fled Texas during the 2022 legislative session.

My 3 kids and 3 grandkids are within a half hour of me, so moving is not an option.

And do you think it would have been better for Trump to have said, “Hell No!!!” and have the MSM rant about Trump’s “homophobia” 24/7 for the next five months?

BINGO. The camel's nose under the tent was the rights of consenting adults to do what they wanted to do within the privacy of their bedrooms.

Fine. Lot's of us were OK with that.

But the decision to respect 'consenting adults rights' DID NOT included perverts pushing for the sexual mutilation of children against the will of their parents. That was NEVER part of that deal.

Putting pornography in school libraries was never part of the deal either.

Trans nightclub sex acts in public libraries for children WAS NOT PART either.

Teaching sexual kinks to first graders was NEVER part of that deal - (neither gay or hetero kink) A bridge way to far....

It's time for the people to vote on these issue and NOT have handpicked gay judges deciding issues that should be decided by citizens. Bring it back - these issues should NEVER have been decided by activist 'judges'.

We have a dear friend who married his male partner of 10 years. Our friend of over 50 years had been concerned that his partner who was quite a bit younger would be left without any resources after he died. I told him to get a good estate plan lawyer but he decided that it would be easier for him to simply married him. And BTW, our friend is a conservative. We don’t know about his friend and have never met him.

“I don’t think Trump likes gays; he tolerates them.”

That’s my preferred attitude as well. Keep it out of my face and we’ll get along.

Trump isn’t a social conservative.

Exactly.  Trump's actual policy positions generally trend toward the mainstream of public opinion when it comes to social issues.  He's not pandering though, he seems perfectly sincere with this.  (Polling has consistently shown for the past several years that ~60 percent of US adults are in favor of same-sex marraiges).  We don't have to like it, but pretending it isn't so isn't productive, either.  Same goes with second amendment issues.  Trump was quick to want to ban bump stocks, for example.

Watching the Trump haters, they focus almost entirely on his affect, not his policies.  Policy wise, at least on the social issues, he's a moderate.  Every politician is a mixed bag, and Trump's no different, but where he is different is with his candor.  Of course he must know that his most fervent supporters take a dim view of the blasphemy that is "gay marraige".  Trump must know that this won't help him at all with the homosexual voters, and that it must hurt him at least somewhat with his base, but he has the strength of character to go with his own personal beliefs on these issues.  People respect that, even when they think he's wrong on the merits.  After all, who wants the Vicar of Bray at the helm in times like these?

Consenting adults wasn’t the issue in the past either. They wanted to and did change the definition of marriage which has now given to changing the definition of woman. What’s next?

—”99% of the homos will still vote for bidet.”

Maybe not that many.

For many years I worked in The Lakeview Neighborhood of Chicago, very queer-centric.
East Lakeview is now the OFFICAL queer neighborhood of Chicago, BOYSTOWN.
Far more queer conservatives than you would think.

Guessing a quarter or more.
It is a higher income area and they vote their wallet.

Yes some loud lefties, not very many.
