American journalist Tucker Carlson, in a podcast interview, criticized Putin's claim that Russia's invasion of Ukraine is necessary for "denazification". Carlson called it "the dumbest thing" he's ever heard and believes Putin uses the term "Nazi" simply to demonize Ukrainians.

"Weapons of mass destruction” was the dumbest reason anyone ever used to justify the invasion of a sovereign country. When did that happen ?
It certainly wasn't Iraq, that started in 1991.

1991 was even worse than 2003. The only difference is that nobody wanted to say publicly what the real reason for the U.S. military campaign was: protecting Islamic royal families in the Middle East who also happened to be investment partners of the Bush family.

I was against the covid jab before the trump “ interview”… yes Tucker revealed a lot about himself by the democrat style softball interview.
I did watch the Putin interview.. Putin claims the west didn’t keep their end of the bargain… I feel the same way after covid lockdowns and mask mandates went th a republican at the helm.

My understanding is that Tucker is with Mearsheimer on this and that Russia's main motivation is not de-Nazification but creating a neutral buffer between NATO and Russia.
Just because Tucker says that one reason is stupid, doesn't mean he thinks Russia had no rationale for going into Ukraine.

So is Tucker now “globohomo”?

I do not agree but that reason could be argued.
The “nazis” stuff is just ridiculous nonsense that Tucker has the good sense to not drink that kool-aid.

Apparently so!

Few are “pro-Kremlin.” We’re only opposed to the U.S. funding foreign nations and foreign wars.
I admire Tucker for both praising and condemning Putin, however each situation merits. It’s called being a rational human being rather than a blind partisan.
Agree on all points.

This article isn’t about the American Indians so you’re using the classic trick of changing the subject about what’s really going on in the world today.

It is a weak justification.
The true motivation for the invasion was not de-nazification, but re-russification.
