About time. I guess China has some sort of backup plan to replace him. They always do. As long as politicians make whores look virtuous, the Chinese always have an in.
To: janetjanet998
Yeah, it’s not like he could do more damage between now and then.

The only way we get relief from him is if he dies......and I suspect that will be on the senate floor.

Yes, and what's wrong with RIGHT NOW, when he can contribute something valuable to the 2024 ELECTION?
(Quietly wondering how the unexpected demise of his SIL might have played into it.)

Everyone knows that if you announce a date nine months in the future, you become a lame duck TODAY.
McConnell might as well be gone now because nobody will make deals with him knowing he won’t be around to follow through.

How about a few years when it would have actually mattered. I guess McConnell realizes he’s gotta enough money from China and Ukraine his ass can retire now

Thune has expressed interest, but the ‘24 senate will not be quite so establishment flavored as it currently is.
Current leadership (Thune, Barasso, Ernst, etc.) may not be rubberstamped to majority head.

I wish it would be so. I wish he would take the job and take it now. Better no agreements at all than what the turtle does.

McTurtle should have left long ago. Kudos for stopping the SC nomination. That’s about it. Swamp creature for sure.

Given his apparent health issues, I think McConnell has a good chance he will drop dead, or have a major stroke before November. Biden too
To: V_TWIN
Let’s hope he hangs in because KY Gov. BeShears has vowed to ignore KY replacement procedures and appoint a D in Mitch’s place.
Were that to happen, senate balance could be at stake.

Mitch is effectively a D anyway so it wouldn’t be much of a difference.
