How did we ever survive? Mumps, measles, chicken pox, the flu, eating dirt, drinking from a garden hose, riding a bike without a helmet, metal Tonka trucks, dodgeball, monkey bars....

I had chicken pox. Measles and mumps can be quite serious illnesses. I was simply observing that nine cases, while not be be ignored, is not a lot of cases.
She’s my age. She was probably vaccinated for measles and mumps.
I’m in my 70’s. I’ve never had measles, mumps or chicken pox. The same for my brother. We were both around kids who had these diseases.
I did have Scarlet Fever when I was a teen.
Scarlet fever was serious, too.
You may be right. The vaccine was licensed in Mar 1963. She was born in Sep 1966. I had already had measles and somehow survived the horribly deadly disease by 1963.
I’m also in that small sliver of Americans that have the smallpox vax scar on my upper arm. That’s probably next. We’ve already been primed with the monkey pox scare. The two are the same virus.

The Supreme Court is hearing two landmark 1st amendment cases today that could change everything. Additionally a massive measles outbreak in 17 states has the CDC sending in special investigators to see how bad it is.
