Were your ancestors abused by a racist, oppressive system? If so, you may have rightful dibs on three-quarters of a hundred billion dollars. At least, that's true of "you" in the group sense -- such is the stance of an alliance in Missouri.
For those unfamiliar with Saint Louis University (SLU), the Roman Catholic research institution was founded in 1818 and is the country's second-oldest Jesuit school. ...
Fast-forward to the formation of Descendants of St. Louis University Enslaved (DSLUE). On February 8th, organization President Robin Proudie -- flanked by civil rights attorney Areva Martin, economist Julianne Malveaux and Democratic State Sen. Karla May -- held a press conference during which a demand for back pay was made.

There is an organization still around today that not only supported slavery but was instrumental in supporting slavery before and during the Civil War. Virtually all slave owners were members of this organization. I'll bet that nearly every descendant of slaves in the US is descended from one or more slaves who were owned by members of this organization.
So it is long past time for the Democratic party to pay billions of dollars in reparations to the generations of Black Americans whose ancestors they enslaved.
Because of bad government accounting we don’t know how much money has been spent on Welfare in the last 60 years. But it is estimated to have been between $15 and $20 Trillion. Black people have collected a disproportionate amount of this money. They have collected $Trillions. Chances are by the time you subtract $74 Billion from what they have already collected... they likely still owe the rest of us quite a few $Trillion.
$74 today, then a trillion tomorrow, then 74 trillion later
Whatever is given will never ever be enough to calm the rage of the perpetually outraged black community. 9nce the us starts to give, it will be like like hammas demanding one thing after another... or suffer the consequences!
Screw Reparations !!!!
It would be far cheaper and “fairer” if we just offered Repatriation (the return of someone to their own country).
Since the current descendants of slaves believe their ancestors originated in Africa, SEND THEM BACK, aka Repatriation or maybe Blaxit !!!
Do the descendants of the 596,670 death, seriously wounded, or MIA Union soldiers who fought for their freedom get anything?
That’s roughly one man’s life lost or ruined for every four slaves freed. Something like 1/4 of the men in the entire Union.
No country, in the history of the world, has fought itself — let alone at such a high price — to free an enslaved population.
Do they actually expect us to feel guilty?
It baffles me how there is no mention of the Africans that kidnapped and/or captured other Africans and sold them as slaves at various auctions in Africa.
It seems that liability and responsibility for the enslavement starts with and belongs to other Africans.
It is a very complicated history but needs to be addressed and clarified before we even start to talk about reparations.
Nobody cares. It is a measure of how silly some people are that they think this can be a realistic idea.
They should only get the money if they renounce their citizenship and are permanently exiled from America forever.
If black inner city youth are willing to slaughter each other over Air Jordan sneakers just imagine what would happen if they believed every one around them was carrying thousands of dollars in their pockets.
These dirty birds are always "flanked by" a bunch of other scowling dirty birds. They can't speak for themselves.
Especially since that money has already been earmarked for illegals...and Ukraine money laundering operations.
“Do they actually expect us to feel guilty?”
I’ve never felt guilty, don’t feel guilty and will never feel guilty about what happened 200+ years ago, with other people. Not all Americans who happen to be black, feel that way. Only the lowlife, knuckle-dragging, lazy, scumbag ghetto rat garbage do. And those leeches don’t count for squat, IMO.
The Union didn't fight for "freedom", they fought to subjugate others and *FORCE* them to be ruled by corrupt Washington DC.
The idea that they were going to free the slaves only happened nearly two years into the war. Initially they fully intended to keep them slaves forever, as demonstrated by Lincoln and the Republican's efforts to pass the Corwin Amendment, guaranteeing slavery forever.
No country, in the history of the world, has fought itself — let alone at such a high price — to free an enslaved population.
This one didn't either. They fought for the 750 million dollars per year that was at stake from the South's economic production, which the Rich, Wealthy elite of the North were controlling, and wanted to continue to control.
The war was over money. The claim that it was about "slavery" was just propaganda used to justify what was really a fight over power and control.
The North didn't even free the slaves in it's own slave states. (Missouri, Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky and West Virginia.)
demand?
When you look at this thing properly as a money grab, it is clear why they don't blame them. They have no money to grab.
It is about money. It was always about money. It was about money in 1861, and it is still about money today.
Change “slaves” to “slave owners” makes more sense. The British recently paid off the loan they made back in the day to British slave owners for emancipating their slaves.
They won’t be satisfied until all white people are dead, after getting all their money.
I cannot help but think a large portion of the money sent to Ukraine is really just to line the pockets of wealthy connected people back here.
In that regard, it is very similar to the Civil War.
and as i substract the value of freedom, i get that each one of you owes $1.9 million to the descendants of your white neighbors.
good day.
i said good day sir.
