'Wolf of Wall Street' says college a 'complete waste of time' for most students: 'Avoid it like the plague'

New analysis finds 1 in 4 students in college programs earn less than high school graduates, ten years after enrollment

...

Famed former Wall Street broker Jordan Belfort commented on the diminishing value of a college education, after a new report found some college students learned less than high school graduates a decade after their enrollment.

College is a "complete waste of time" for most students, ...

"If you want to be a professional, a doctor, a lawyer, an accountant or something that really requires a degree then yes, you should go to college

...

"But all of these other sort of softer subjects like gender studies and all this other stuff, what are you going to do with that stuff, honestly? So I think it’s a complete waste of time," ..

...

Aside from the financial impact, Belfort said he couldn't even recommend that students attend for the social experience anymore, as college campuses have increasingly become hotbeds for far-left social agendas.

"So, unless you need it for your career, you want to be a professional, I'd avoid it like the plague," .

A new analysis from the HEA Group found that 1 in 4 students in higher education programs are earning less than the median annual income of $32,000 for high school graduates,

...

So many people I know are just overwhelmed and confused by anything about finance, banking, money management, but if you learn it at a very young age, along with your arithmetic tables, I think you'd be a lot better off," Belfort continued.

"The Wolf of Investing" author said financial literacy principles and subjects could be built upon as students get older so that by the time they are adults, managing their finances becomes "second nature."

As far as democrats are concerned, college is absolutely NOT a waste of time for most.

After all, what better way to indoctrinate our youth in socialistic and far-left radical thinking, while loading most with debt they cannot pay, because they cannot get a decent paying job with a worthless degree.

What better way to make even more people dependent on the government while encouraging irresponsible behavior, hence the need for loan relief?

For democrats, it is PERFECT.

I like Jordan Belfort. He was shady early on and paid for it. He seems like he accumulated a lot of wisdom from his mistakes and likes to share it.

“What? The degree in vaginomics didn’t pan out?”

I studied right at 27 of those in college. It wasn’t particularly useful in the workplace, thankfully.

But my wife of 30 years, while mildly disgusted at my wayward youth, appreciates the skills learned.

I use to have these MBA’s with their pedigrees thinking they were better than me and wondering WTH I am doing to get my deals.

They were mortified when I said “Cold Calling and people skills. They didn’t teach that in advanced basket weaving?”

One guy threatened to kick my Azz.

I laughed “You can’t fight sleep. You don’t want to fight me...”

Degrees for most jobs are just dumb.

Time was, some kids went to college simply to drink beer, chase coeds, and go to football games. I don't think those goals are valid anymore.

Learning how to hate white people is cultural enrichment...it prepares you to be a government, corporate or non-profit bureaucrat.

With all the information available FOR FREE online 90% of college degrees are useless. The only disciplines I can think of that would require an actual college are fields that require expensive large labs and machinery. Medical, scientific, engineering, architecture, physics, chemistry. Stuff like that.

If you want gender studies, political science, psychology or other nonsense then yes it’s a waste of time and money.
If you want to compete w the rest of the world in engineering, you will need a minimum of BS from a good school.

I’m not so sure he’s right. The race and gender reeducation industry is huge in corporations and government. I know of situations where educated race hustlers get a solid six figure income to make white people feel guilty as a condition of having employment.
