I follow a lot of Russian language accounts on social media. I first realised something had happened on Friday when I saw a Russian listings magazine post a crying emoji with a picture of the face of Navalny, Russia’s leading opposition figure. This was odd. Their posts were usually apolitical – recently about Rothko in Paris, Timothée Chalamet in Wonka and Prince Charles’s health. News of Alexei Navalny’s death hit the Russian-speaking online world moments before it broke across international media. The very first reaction was cryptic and euphemistic. You could sense the thought behind the responses: Is he really dead? And, if he is, is it OK to protest his death? As the minutes ticked by, one question surfaced: Would people comment on this who wouldn’t usually say anything? *snip* In photographs and videos since his arrest in January 2021 right up to the day before his death was reported, he could be seen laughing, smiling and making a heart sign with his hands. These images can seem surprising but this is a phenomenon Pussy Riot – no strangers to arrest and prison – explained in their photographic exhibition Velvet Terrorism. You make an effort not to present yourself as downbeat or depressed when there are photographers present, even if you are in great pain or feeling hopeless. Because “negative” photos are so easily used to make you appear “guilty” or “suspicious”. Navalny traded instead in hope, transparency and humour.

Navalny was the fave of DC/the MSM/London and the Ivy League and the globalists. So he’s no friend of normal America.
Now take your medicine honey, it's for the greater good.
It is much more complicated than to claim a person my enemy likes has to be bad.
Not about friend or not, but how average Russians see it. Russian govts fall not from elections, but from revolution. There is a reason the second largest expense in Russian federation is “internal security”
Didn't even click thru to the article, much less read it, didj'a. Just posted your graffiti and moved on.
You act as if this man’s death means a damn to middle-class America. it doesn’t, and since we haven’t a clue what happened to him it’s best you take a deep breath and concentrate on the problems facing US.
He does go by the name of Right Wing Madman, it was remarkably quiet here on FR over Gonzalo Lira a journalist who recently died in a Ukrainian Prison, not a peep from anyone in Washington or here on FR.
I predict the same response when Julian Assange dies in a prison cell over publishing damaging information about Democrats and Hillary Clinton.
My point, it’s despicable that Putin simply kills off his political rivals, it’s also despicable that the USA kills off many of it’s critics by using 3rd parties to carry out the job.
“The world is not divided into either/or.
It is much more complicated than to claim a person my enemy likes has to be bad.”
Bingo!
And because many people are simpletons, unable to think critically or too lazy unwilling to make the effort, they gravitate to one end of the political spectrum or the other.
Each side exists as a home for these people. For the Nazis/fascists it was the jews who were the boogeyman, the Communists, anybody with means. Today we have new boogeymans for each side

No, zeeper. Shove your arrogant command where the sun don’t shine. I could care less what Yurp has to say about anything.
He was a color revolution scrote. Joined at the hip with DC and neoconia… he’ll be forgotten by the weekend. You can tell what he was but how much DC is wailing and rending their garments.
This is as moving as losing Klaus Schwab, Zelinsky or Soros would be.
I’m waiting for them to break into an interpretive dance over this lol.
The well-organized anti-Navalny smear campaign is in full swing
Good morning you Banderist transplant to Canada!
I care more about the January 6th people being locked up over protesting.
When I feel the need for Canadian globalist propaganda, I’ll give you a nudge, you hate-filled thing.
