New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) addressed New York business owners in a new interview and told them there was “nothing to worry about” after former President Trump was hit with a $355 million fine and the inability to conduct business in New York for three years.
Hochul joined John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM where she was asked if other New York businesspeople should be worried that if “they can do that to the former president, they can do that to anybody.”
“I think that this is really an extraordinary unusual circumstance that the law-abiding and rule-following New Yorkers who are business people have nothing to worry about because they’re very different than Donald Trump and his behavior,” Hochul responded.
A New York judge on Friday ordered Trump to pay the massive sum in penalties in a civil fraud case. The decision came just weeks after closing arguments wrapped up a months-long trial after New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) sued Trump for alleging he falsely altered his net worth to receive tax and insurance benefits.

They are openly admitting it now, even James, in her ‘victory’ speech said so.
Businesses? What about anyone refinancing a house?
“Hey, we don’t like your politics, you overstated the value of your house, especially when selling it.”
“Look if you come here and play by the simple rules, you will be fine. Say nothing critical of any Democrat. Make regular contributions to Democrats”.
This is what happens in a one party state. The NY communist government is worse than the mafia. Anyone who believes Hochul is a fool.
That is an admission that a bill of attainder was essentially implemented, without actually having legislation passed.
As long as you make campaign contributions to the Democrats you have proven your loyalty and will be fine....
I’m sure she will convince everybody. Uh huh.
Existing companies will distance themselves from that jurisdiction and new companies will refuse to enter it.
Big opportunity missed. Hochul should have been asked if she had any conversations with Attorney General James regarding Trump prior to the conclusion of this trial. Likely James covered herself by getting Hochul, the Governor and head Democrat in the state to agree to this political persecution.
“Don’t worry! We’re not aiming at you! Yet…”
” Hochul tells NY businesses not to fear about Trump verdict: ‘Nothing to worry about’”
Unless the Soros financed state government decides you are of no use to them then Ta Ta.
Nothing to worry about!
Translation:
Don’t worry. We did this to Trump because we can’t let him become president. We won’t do it to you unless you try to stop us from turning the country into a third-world hell-hole
dictatorship.
No business is going to believe this big eyed hag. They all know NYS Zis corrupt in the first place. Now, the tyrants have a new tool.
All it takes is your business running afoul of someone in power, for any reason (you don’t kick back, donate to the right campaign, etc.) and you are facing this same charge.
Ooooohhhhhh.... seems like I have heard something like this before.... something.....something....great big sucking sound as the businesses LEAVE!!!!
At least there is a face to the monster who has possibly singlehandedly destroyed NY by putting the final nails in their coffin.
She’s admitting it was a hit job on Trump.
So she is saying they practice selective prosecution against individuals depending on who they don’t like at the moment.
If they can go after a former President who is the current front runner then they can go after any business that stands up to their socialist policies.
My advise is to leave New York as soon as possible.
“Don’t worry. This is a one-time example. Just stay in line and you have nothing to fear. Your minder will call on you shortly to help you do this.”
My father sold his main NY business in 1977. He lived in a rented apartment in his last years.
Decades ago, I called it the Socialist Republic of New York.
No state is safe nowadays, but California and New York are dangerous.
