All of them are Black Americans who found their new homes in Africa. They are enjoying the substantially lower cost of living and, more important, they said, the absence of the racism and discrimination they experienced in the United States.
The Covid pandemic and the racial reckoning in the wake of the murder of George Floyd led some Black Americans to seek a different way of life abroad, in a movement that some are calling Blaxit.
Those moving to Africa are also looking for an ancestral connection. Their migration is less about money and more about acceptance, a path that many intellectuals and artists have taken before.

I strongly suspect he’s one of those that are of the belief that all white people are racist by default until its been proven to his satisfaction that you are not.....and that threshold is a high mark to reach in his mind, if it wasn’t he wouldn’t have the race card to throw.......I have one of those across the street from me. After discovering my wife had been retrieving her trash can from the street she commented that she was glad at least one of her neighbors wasn’t a racist.

If they thought there was racism in America, they’re in for a rude awakening. The backbone of Africa is still tribalism. Blacks from America will be both ostracized and targeted for their homes, cars and lifestyles.

Living in Saudi Arabia I had a few surprises over the years I was there. One thing I learned was that Saudis with African features were treated like scum. They were the lowest class there was.
I once asked a Saudi when he was going to make the rank of Chief. He said he couldn’t as he was too black. I had to let that one rest. Apparently the lighter skin an Arab was, the better to other Arabs. Their families and tribes were the most powerful. I once met some Syrians who were so white that I thought they were Europeans. Nice people and the other Arabs treated them with respect.
