The judge who presided over a civil business fraud trial against Donald Trump and his company has issued his decision in the case.
Judge Arthur Engoron ordered the former president and the Trump Organization to pay over $364 million in damages, and bars Trump "from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in New York for a period of three years."
The judgment is the second this year against Trump after he was hit last month with an $83.3 million verdict in writer E. Jean Carroll's defamation case against him. The former president could also face four criminal trials this year as his presidential campaign barrels toward the November election, with the first set to begin in New York state court on March 25th.
New York Attorney General Letitia James had been seeking $370 million from Trump, his company and its top executives, including his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, alleging "repeated and persistent fraud" that included falsifying business records and financial statements. James had argued those financial statements were at times exaggerated by as much as $2.2 billion.

What damages? Who was defrauded? Absolutely no one. Loans were willing given by a lender - the lenders were responsible for determining the value of properties. the loans were paid back to the lenders according to the terms of the loans. No one was defrauded. There were no damages. This whole thing is a lie.
The left from the MOMENT Trump went down that escalator has vowed to destroy him not because they hate him, but because they want to make sure that NO ONE that thinks like him will EVER run for office again. They hate US not HIM, they hate the agenda, they hate ANYTHING America First..so they want in the future anyone that runs for President as a Republican is a Nikki Haley or Romney type, that simple
It is crazy.
The underlying cause was so flawed, I’m shocked that property developers are not screaming bloody murder.
So pathetic that this judge doesn’t understand the difference between land use valuations for tax purposes and market value.
2 Penn Plaza, where Rush broadcast from when he was in NY?
kangaroo court. outcome was expected.

oppose us and we’ll make up sh*t just to ruin you
Nikki gloated over the $83 million judgment against Trump in the E. Jean Carroll case, so she is no doubt gloating over this as well.
Who is he supposed to pay damages to? No one claims they were harmed.
There was talk some years ago about our government calculating imputed income from all applicable taxpayers. In a nutshell, I’d you owned a vacation property and selfishly used it yourself some or all of the time, nit renting it out for going market rate income, the govt. Would tax you anyway, as if you did rent it out. You would owe. If you didn’t pay they would take it from you and sell it to their friends who would rent UT. Straight out of Doctor Zhivago.
can you write in a negative number based on a realistic appraisal of loss based on what you are not getting from that apartment?
They are not "damages." They are fines and penalties to be paid to the state of NY.
Once more Trump’s popularity will expand.......and this kangaroo court decision will be reversed on appeal.
No, no. This judge is like many “libtard” judges. He knows everything about everything. What a pompous asshole!
“It is required to post a bond in order to prevent the judgment from being enforced during the pendency of the appeal”
Thanks for the clarification!
“They wonโt get me. They may get you if you left a great deal of evidence on the Internet that they may use against you”
Um.... what makes you think these fascist creeps need “evidence”? Have you not been paying attention?
I would ask how we could organize a boycott of NYC, but even if there’s a way our outrage will disappear as soon as we have to give up something.
Doesn’t this just hurt NY’s tax base?
HOWEVER, SCOTUS only takes appeals of issues under federal law. I have thought for many years the Martin Act is unconstitutional. Maybe we'll find out, if the NY courts don't correct this ruling.
