Things are going badly for Ukraine — really badly

As the second anniversary of Russia's unprovoked invasion approaches, the situation is beginning to look bleak for Ukraine.

Last year's counteroffensive brought hopes that Ukraine could capitalize on its successes in 2022 and drive back Russian forces from occupied territories in southern and eastern Ukraine.

But the offensive failed to achieve a breakthrough, and Ukraine is now seeing crucial support from its allies bleed away. Meanwhile, its troops are experiencing shortages of personnel and ammunition.

There are problems at the top, too. Its senior command has been engulfed in chaos, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy replacing Valery Zaluzhny, a senior commander, amid reported disagreements over strategy.

'It's just relentless pressure'

At the heart of Ukraine's problems is diminishing international aid. Ukraine has previously said it may not be able to successfully defend itself against Russia without US help.

Ukraine has previously said it may not be able to successfully defend itself against Russia without US help.

Which means the war will end more quickly, thousands of Ukrainian lives will be spared and billions in US taxpayer dollars will be saved. Sounds great to me!

You're far more likely to end up in hell than Putin.

Their kids are not at threat, nor are their homes, nor are their lands.

Their relatives kids, home and land were in danger in Donetsk and Lugansk. Ethnic Russians were the largest ethnic group in those oblasts.

And, that is far more of justification for Russia to invade that it was for us in the first Iraq war to save Kuwait.

Their kids are not at threat, nor are their homes, nor are their lands.

Let's we fomented an illegal coup in Ukraine. Installed a government hostile to Russia and the ethnic Russian population in Ukraine. We funded and trained a 600,000 man Ukrainian army that included neo-Nazis. We armed Ukraine with weapons that could reach Russian territory. We teased NATO membership for Ukraine. And, we were running biolabs in Ukraine with deadly pathogens in them.

If Russia or China had done anything like that in Mexico, what do you think we'd do?

My tagline is a mirror of a quote from Russian propagandist Anton Krasovsky who said, “Ukrainians aren’t people, they’re cosmic trash”

With respect, your about page on FR is all about political techniques. I don’t understand this one. I wasn’t even familiar with Krasovsky line, but I see your tagline on every post. I don’t think that it’s portraying what you want it to.

As an aside, I thought that Putin’s half-hour history lecture at the start of his interview with Tucker Carlson was some kind of political technique. I am not sure what its goal was, but it took a lot of time.

Why would Russia risk WW3 by resorting to nukes? Are they that stupid?

...Putin dies (by whatever cause) and his replacement puts an immediate end to the war.

Far, far more likely, Putin's Replacement will put an immediate end to Ukraine.

...China is seeing Russia’s weakness and is starting to look at recapturing Siberia from Russia.

China will reevaluate Siberia's administration the day after The Second American Civil War is settled with the permanent division of what used to be The United States Of America, and not until then.

Of course there would be no repercussions from the West no matter what China did anywhere in the world.

Be careful what you wish for, you may get it in a way you don't want.

There were rumors that NATO or Western troops were in the surround.

They’ve got a ton of drones. I assume the U.S. is feeding them the product of every intelligence and surveillance system we have. I think they’re just flat running out of men and munitions. How many rounds is a 155 tube good for before it’s got to be replaced? NATO will run out of artillery pieces long before the Russian/NORK supplies dry up. Apparently, the Russians are firing up to 8000 artillery rounds per DAY. NATO has been training the Ukes. The new Uke commander, Syrskyi, a Russian, was trained by the Russians.

I think Ukraine is the first Woke War.

I wonder when Bruce Springsteen, U2, McDonna, Lady GagMe, Cher and other assorted has-been trash is going to assemble and put out a virtue-signaling song of slop for Ukraine? 🤮

Why couldn’t they sit at a table and work it out like the Czechs and the Slovaks did?

They had decades to do that, but various MICs said no.

I can’t find the full video of xiden’s remarks this evening, but I heard it on the radio on the way home and it smacked of abject desperation. The video linked above is inadequate to frame the desperation I heard on the radio.

So, I smiled ear to ear when I saw this a few minutes ago:

I thought they were winning? Seems like that was reported often. Battle after battle.

I noticed that there is something seriously wrong with VN - if anyone remembers that presser on Jerusalem - she was something else.
