The Senate Republicans’ campaign arm is formally endorsing Kari Lake in the Arizona Senate race, putting an end to speculation over whether GOP leadership in the upper chamber would get behind the Republican front-runner.

“Kari Lake is one of the most talented candidates in the country. Kari is building out an effective campaign operation that has what it takes to flip Arizona’s Senate seat in November,” Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.), chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC).

“I’m proud to endorse Kari Lake for United States Senate.”

I bet the Turtle is seething. GOOD!

He diverted money away from MAGA candidates in 2022 and dumped it in the lap of that RINO hag Murkowski in Alaska. Even that wasn't enough -- they had to change to Ranked Choice Voting to get her in.

At this point we need 59 more like her. I reserve the right to change my mind, however, if the swamp swallows her at a later date.

The so-called “MAGA candidates” had no support from the base or they would have been able to raise their own money. The establishment orgs and PACs should only be supplemental support - not the main ball game...but many candidates in the last cycle had nothing to go on the air with without these PACs and that was only a tear drop to the Democrat onslaught who had their own PACs as well as candidates fully funded by their base. This has been the case for multiple election cycles in a row now. Our candidates are left twisting in the wind - even Trump himself in 2020 did not get adequate support from the base and was far less funded than Biden.

Was that one of her photos taken with Obama during her time in the media?
I am pleasantly surprised with JD Vance who also had no political experience

“Was that one of her photos taken with Obama during her time in the media?”

Obama was thanking her for her endorsement and donations.

The swamp won't swallow her. She has already passed the test of fire when she turned down the big bribes to take 2 years off politics. I'm not sure why she waited to expose McConnell's messenger boy but it's done now and he resigned in disgrace.

Texagator, why do you enjoy spreading fake news? Did your hemorrhoids flare up again or something?

For those who naively believe that Yertle the Turtle is outraged about this development....

You can bet your last dollar that Steve Daines (who runs the NRSC) doesn’t so much as take a dump in the morning without Mitch McConnell’s explicit approval.

So the real question is why they decided to endorse Lake, keeping in mind that mere words mean nothing if the NRSC doesn’t put its money where its mouth is.

We’ll see if that ever happens here, or if they spend their meager (compared to the Democrats) resources chasing rainbows, unicorns and pipe dream Senate seats in places like Maryland.

I don’t understand why they would get involved in AZ primary. Sheriff Mark Lamb would be better able to win in the general election.

“The so-called “MAGA candidates” had no support from the base or they would have been able to raise their own money.”

Actually that is not true. What is true is that the traditional big donors to R candidates tend to be chamber of commerce Republicans and the like open borders and could not care any less about icky social issues. They boycott or actively oppose MAGA candidates.

So far, conservatives have not been able to replace all of that open borders money with small donations from regular people.

Hopefully that will change. But the open borders rich guys are one of the reasons the open borders wing of the R party still has so much power.

I would much prefer Lamb to Lake, as he is more conservative, and has an actual record of accomplishment. Probably explains why the money is now behind Lake.
