We've had a couple of days to digest that damning classified documents investigation report and the Biden administration's disaster of a response to it. This morning I did some browsing around to try to determine where the dust is settling in terms of the White House, the Democrats, the GOP, the media, and even foreign countries. Karen already picked apart what the Biden team's response has been thus far and what will likely happen going forward. That will mostly be nothing aside from optics and cosmetic attempts (in some cases literally) at getting people to forget about it and go about their business. That would appear to be a vain hope, particularly when some of the fire the Biden team is taking is coming from their side of the wall. One of the more amusing assessments I noticed came from former Clinton adviser Paul Begala, who jokingly claimed that the release of the report had caused him to wet the bed. (NY Post)
Paul Begala, a former adviser to President Bill Clinton, joked Friday that he “wet the bed” over the findings in Special Counsel Robert Hur’s scathing report on President Biden’s handling of classified documents.
“Look, I’m a Biden supporter. And I slept like a baby last night. I woke up every two hours and wet the bed,” the Democratic strategist quipped during an appearance on CNN.
Hur’s bombshell report asserts that Biden, 81, “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials” but should not face criminal charges, in part because a jury may view the president as an “elderly man with a poor memory.”
Having surveyed the landscape, I believe there are a couple of conclusions we can reach at this point. First of all, the report was nothing short of a disaster in some ways. As others have already noted, the Special Counsel has effectively codified as fact the reality that Joe Biden is not qualified to hold his current job and he very likely represents a significant national security risk to America and the rest of the world as well. But it may not have the impact that many seem to be anticipating. And such a lack of jarring results may be what we probably should have expected.
In more normal times (whenever those were), that report should have been the end of the Biden presidency. The 25th Amendment would have been invoked and - God Help Us All - Kamala Harris would be preparing to be sworn in as the 47th POTUS. But that's not what we're seeing and I don't believe you'll be seeing anything similar for some time to come. There are several reasons for this.
First of all, no matter what the report said (and it said plenty), there was no way that Biden's own Justice Department was going to recommend prosecution no matter how much of an obvious double standard was on display. If there was any surprise in that report, it's that they didn't simply ignore the Trump situation entirely and roll out the "no reasonable prosecutor" line yet again as they've done for all Democrats. The fact that they felt compelled to offer Biden an excuse that involved his age and failing memory was more than I expected and the most would should have anticipated.
As for Team Biden's response, Joe Biden was never going to admit to any wrongdoing or acknowledge any physical or mental infirmity. He was also never going to resign. None of those things are in his character and neither his handlers nor his wife would let him quit. They want to hang on to power too badly and they both hate and are terrified by Trump.
As for the national Democrats, what are their options? At least until the convention, they can't jump up, wave their arms, and embrace the report. If they call for Joe to step aside, they will be admitting that they made a mistake nominating him to begin with and their judgment can't be trusted. Such admissions are not allowed inside the swamp. It's true that many of them are in full-blown panic mode over his approval numbers and polling data, but they are still crossing their fingers and hoping that those figures could improve over the summer. (And that's still a possibility.) The only thing that will spur them to action is a collective belief that the ship has truly sailed and a Trump victory over Biden is inevitable. If that moment arrives, they will act, most likely at the convention. It would be a humiliating non-admission, but they are playing for keeps and they'll try whatever tools they can find in the chest to drag victory kicking and screaming from the jaws of defeat.
Good analysis.
Are people FINALLY Seeing through the dem lies?
So what a the report saying he’s incompetent to stand trafal? And if so, how does that play into Trumps plans to prosecute him?
The reporting on this seems to be lacking in communicating the fact that Biden clearly broke the law.
He actually took classified material out of the national archives. Took it home and left it unsecured.
bttt
They know that if Trump wins, he will destroy the careers of many Democratic Part officials, political hacks in DOJ, NSA, CIA, Woke military appointments, Treasury, FBI, etc. An he will insure that “lawfare” is waged against Democrats and their supporters. They know they have done illegal things and even if only legal things are done against them, they will end up in jail. They can't imagine a Trump administration only using legal tactics to seek revenge.
As such they will do ANYTHING to keep Trump from office.
Biden’s POTUS odds went from 2/1 to 5/2-the folks backing opinion with money are not considering it that big of a deal.
There was a fake news headline about betting on Mike surging?
He went from 8/1 to 6/1 and the governor overseeing the largest exodus in CA history came in to 10/1 fr 12/1.
Trump stayed at even money where he has been for quite a while.
I’m cutting and pasting what I said on a previous post:
I think the White House staff (that actually run the government) had planned to convince Biden to step down after the primaries. After all, the primaries are messy and you’re never quite sure who will win. Better to let Biden win all the elected delegates before making the announcement.
The super delegates are a big enough block that they can rely on that group plus a significant portion of the then fragmented Biden delegates to assure themselves of their candidate of choice.
Unfortunately for them, this is all coming to a head too soon. Now they either keep pushing an increasingly incompetent Biden only to withdraw him later or they allow those unpredictable voters to have a say.
I’m waiting for all the sudden stories of Democrat Politicians and their Stooges committing suicide BECAUSE THEY KNOW that if Trump wins, he will destroy the careers of many Democratic Part officials, political hacks in DOJ, NSA, CIA, Woke military appointments, Treasury, FBI, etc.
DEMOCRATS ARE COWARDS. How many will take the Coward’s way out?
.
They looked all over for a reason to get rid of Biden as their candidate. They settled on the documents investigation into which the claim of mental degradation could be inserted.
The task was accomplished in a shoddy and illogical manner. At the time of the document flap, Biden was a younger Senator and not a mentally degraded relic.
The DNC slaves at the media will do the dirty work by disregarding the illogic of the gambit and flogging the fact the charge was made.
That’s exactly what it’s saying.
Agreed—this article represents my views.
There is a very real possibility that the Democrats never panic up to the election.
If the polls show Biden just a few points behind they may stick with him and try to cheat their way to victory.
The Deep State is actually boring—they will stick to the tried and true and will rarely panic.
Very very true! They are evil straight from the pit of hell. They never sleep from doing evil. But God IS still on His throne!
Everyone seems to be forgetting one thing....
They found that they could charge him....
This is going to haunt President Trump...

What makes you so sure Trump will clean house?
He has every right and justification to expose and prosecute the corruption and lawlessness of the left,- not to mention the expectations of his supporters. It will be a nasty, long battle but necessary task to truly make America great again. He will need unwavering support from his entire team and supporters.
In his first campaign, Trump “said” he was going to prosecute Hillary for her crimes, but after election, ultimately he didn’t do anything to punish her blatant crimes and corruption, indicating that he felt she had suffered enough…. Then she, the Obama cabal, the democrats, and the deep state conspired to cripple his presidency and to destroy him personally, without any qualms.
Their evil efforts to destroy him and his family continue unabated to this day. I’m sure, in hind sight, he wishes he would have began his first term with aggressive dismantling of the entrenched deep state and prosecution of the left’s ring leaders for their obvious corruption and crimes.
Now, he “says” he is going to initiate the largest deportation program in history, it’s needed, but will he, really? Despite his rough, tough demeanor and bravado talk, Trump has a good & kind heart. Trump’s ego wants to be loved and respected by everyone. When he begins mass deportations, we all know that he will be portrayed by MSM as evil incarnate or worse. Will his ego survive the broadcast imagery and sob stories of the poor, poor migrant families and children being denied the American dream? (While the MSM continues to ignore crimes and destruction of illegal alien malcontents..) Many fair weather, weak willed supporters, particularly two faced congressional RINOs, (yes, you Lindsey Graham..) will begin to distance themselves to avoid negative press coverage in their own districts or local jurisdictions.
If elected again, the deep state and the left will continue to oppose and try to sabotage Trump’s every action. The MSM hates him and will continue to crucify him in every possible way.
I support Trump - he’s really our only hope for our nation, but the challenges are large and many. He’ll need a dedicated team of America First warriors in his cabinet and leading all of the federal agencies. They need to fully understand the consequences to this nation of losing this battle of our good versus the evil forces and factors that seek to destroy us. If the good doesn’t destroy the evil, the good will be destroyed by the evil….
