For God's Sake, Democrats, Do the Right Thing And Tell Biden to Resign
American Thinker ^ | 02/09/2024 | Rick Moran

Posted on 02/09/2024 7:52:01 AM PST by SeekAndFind

Watching Biden's response to the Hur Special Counsel report was enormously disturbing to me. I wasn't thinking about the exposure of classified documents or the maddening double standard at play in giving Biden a pass. The one thing that ran through my mind all during that speech was one unthinkable question: This man has his finger on the nuclear trigger?

At a time when Russian President Vladimir Putin speaks so casually about using nuclear weapons in Ukraine, the thought of Joe Biden having to make a decision about our nuclear deterrent should give every American who isn't a Democratic Party partisan hack a feeling of dread.

This isn't hyperbole. It's not the kind of gross exaggeration that both sides use in a presidential campaign. This is real. In my opinion, it's a threat to the survival of the planet that makes climate change look like a walk in the park.

Why worry about a warming planet 100 years from now when Biden could blow it all up tomorrow?

I'm making an effort to avoid the kind of generalizations we read when hearing "Biden is too old" to be president. There are many 80-year-old men and women who can function at a very high level at that age. Biden is not one of them. People age at different speeds, as I can attest, as a recently-turned 70-year-old. While the president isn't afflicted with Alzheimer's disease as far as we know, any rational observer can see that his mental faculties are in decline. And watching that press conference should fill all of us with dread.

"The President of the United States could not remember when he served as Vice President. He could not remember when his son died. He could not remember basic questions," writes talk show host Erick Erickson.

OTOH, if they replace him with someone else who is more popular, it could jeopardize Trump’s election. As for democrats loving their country, you’ve GOT to be kidding me!

"They can’t charge those who have committed sedition and espionage because it would fill Gitmo to the brim. Therefore, using the intelligence services and the media is going to spin it for the 25th Amendment removal of Joe Biden without the prosecution that he and his enablers deserve. Don’t play for the Distraction. This is espionage, and it should be prosecuted as such."

I'll go further: they can't allow uncompromised/honest people to get near the 'apparatus' ever again and start poking around. Too many are "in too deep". It brings to mind that phrase attributed to GHW Bush: "If the American people knew what we have done, they would string us up from the lamp posts."

Will a 25th Amendment action provoke a Constitutional Crisis (based on the ineligibility of Kamala Harris to assume the Presidency)?

The Biden Administration is full of Obama people, so it is effectively Obama's third term. If the Democrats replace Biden with Michelle and she wins, we could be in for a fourth (and maybe a fifth) Obama term. Michelle might be worse than Biden or Kamala.

Michelle is probably much less popular with the general public than the Democratic Party leaders think...but they could probably steal the election for her.

Have you heard her try to speak? Biden is senile. Harris is retarded. But she's also younger and the idiot "Yass Queen" women's vote will be hers.

Invoking the 25th Amendment would not make Kamala President but merely “Acting President.” Nobody ever seems to read the actual text of the amendment.

Obama was as fake as a three dollar bill—and now you want to complain about Kamala.

They have already proven they just don’t care what is legal or constitutional any more.

Lol.

Obama is playing his card. He is now throwing his useless puppet under the bus. Look for the 25th to take effect. Look for Michelle Obama to be “persuaded” to join the race on the Democratic ticket.

It was their plan all along.

The Democrats can get rid of Biden using the 25 Amendment. Then Kamala makes a speech, and they realize they need to invoke the 25th Amendment again. Pelosi is probably saying, “Damn, I was that close!”

“1) How does he step aside, does he serve out the term or resign. I say he serves it out BUT it is announced he will not seek re-election for personal reasons.

2) How is the democrat candidate chosen and when?”

Same answer to BOTH.

At the convention. August 19 to 22. Chicago (of all places)

We will only have to put up with Biden as a candidate until then.

Can he maintain the office (can they continue to “prop him up”) until then??????

Unclear.

What they SHOULD do is have him announce that he will NOT be the nominee so that others can start to promote themselves and gather support.

BUT “the powers that be” may have all this planned and laid out already. The nominees may already be chosen (P&VP), the method all laid out (as in the 2020 election), all that is left to do is implement.

Do you love America more than you love being in power?

Why would any sentient being even wonder that about the Left.

No. Hang Biden around the necks of the Dems. Make them defend the indefensible, right up until November election.

Have you ever tried to get a demented person to do something he didn’t want to do? He’s at the stage of dementia where he denies it, and becomes infuriated at the suggestion. It’s NOT a cooperative stage.

For all the bitching about the State of Texas and its Governor, you’re missing the point: it’s New York and its politicians with way too much influence: Hochul, Schumer, Jeffries, Adams…need I go on?

No...don't do that. It would make Harris President.

Let him turn over his powers to Harris...she would not be President with this path.

What would happen if Biden passed....say Oct 31st.

“I hope Biden continues to stay in office - the longer Biden hangs on, the better it will be for Trump”

This.

No way we want Biden to resign. You can search far and wide and not find a weaker opponent with more baggage.

Keep him right where he is and let him work to re-elect Trump.
