‘Assault Weapons’ Ban Targeting Pistols and Shotguns Headed to Gov. Youngkin’s Desk
Breitbart ^ | 02/09/2024 | AWR HAWKINS

Virginia’s House passed a ban an “assault weapons” ban last week and the Senate followed suit on Wednesday of this week, which means an “assault weapons” ban is now headed to Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R) desk.

Breitbart News reported that the ‘assault weapons’ legislation, House Bill 2 and companion bill Senate Bill 2, targets semiautomatic centerfire rifles and semiautomatic centerfire pistols with threaded barrels and semiautomatic shotguns, if the shotguns have “a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the shotgun … the ability to accept a detachable magazine … [or] a fixed magazine capacity in excess of seven rounds.”

If passed, Virginia will be another one of those states where a person traveling best know their anti-2A rules.

I was putting a rifle back into its factory case last night and a little card fell out saying “Not legal in California”. It was just a Springfield M1A, which is nothing more than a deer rifle. No scary looking assault rifle with a pistol grip or accessory rail with special optics or sights or nothing. Just a rifle.

Sooner or later spit wads shot with a rubber band will be illegal.

Passed a ban on an assault weapons ban. Which means they are banning any bans on assault weapons?

That is what the first sentence sounds like, but the article seems to indicate otherwise.

Are you sure about your info.

A ban on a ban? We’re doomed.

The question is, if he vetoes it, can the Virginia legislature override it.

The firearms that they most want to ban are the ones that should be MOST protected by the second amendment.

When does it end? My oldest son still has quite a large number of wood baseball bats he used to swing when he played minor league baseball several years ago. Are they going to be termed “assault bats” now? The absurdity just keeps getting deeper and deeper.

VA is thoroughly infiltrated, compromised and corrupted by demonKKKrats, leftists, hate-America liberals, socialists, communists, fascists, nazis, anarchists, BLMers etc etc etc.Not quite Portland or Seattle, but on its way.

As Sara Brady said once “We want them all.” Antigunners cannot be reasoned with. They cannot be bargained with. The will settle for nothing less than total civilian disarmament. They don’t rest. They don’t give a rat’s backside if their newly imported criminals kill you and your entire family. After all you’re a bitter clinger. The only ways this can end are if 1. We’re totally disarmed and enslaved. 2. We’re killed resisting arrest. 3. They and their jackbooted minions are killed in sufficient quantity to change the nature of our current crop of tyrant wannabes. 4 they are completely defeated in the electoral process. I greatly prefer 4, but with the dumber half of the electorate voting Democrat this seems to be unrealistic.

NoVa proggies are still pissed about McAuliffe getting turned out of office. Droolin’ Joe called him the “rightful governor” in a speech last week. This is a kabuki tantrum, IMHO.
