Russian media: Massive explosion occurs at weapons factory

A massive explosion occurred at the Votkinsk weapons factory in Russia's Udmurtia region the evening of Feb. 7, according to the state-run news outlet TASS.

The Votkinsk Machine Building Plant produces nuclear weapons components and ballistic missiles, including the RS-24 Yars intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

The detonation caused a large fire to break out at the factory. Residents of Votkinsk reportedly shared videos of the fire on social media.

TASS said that the dispatch service claimed the explosion resulted from "a scheduled test of rocket engines."

The dispatch service reportedly called the explosion "a planned event, not an emergency."

No information has been released about casualties from the blast.

Votkinsk lies about 50 kilometers from the regional capital of Izhevsk. The weapons factory produces civilian and military products, including strategic ballistic missiles for the Topol-M and Iskander systems.

Accident or sabotage?

Sabotage or drones.

It’s not an accident such as American food producers mysteriously having multiple enormous fires.

A long way from Ukraine. Out of drone range. We might need to prepare for the same as our first responders will be tied up dealing with the illegals.

That entire oblast’s heavy industry is weapons manufacturing. Izhevsk is the home of Kalashnikov group.

Perhaps the Russians are tired of this war and the oligarchs making money off it. The proles might have learned a few tricks from the Chechens about sabotage and terrorism.

There’s always hope that Russia will cease being savage, but I fear it’s in their nature from the way they’ve had to fend off attacks from others. However, defending yourself is much different from attacking peaceful neighbors.

Funny, I just read this morning that it was the other way around — that Russian forces were surrounded by Ukrainian soldiers at Avidvika…. No idea which is true. Maybe neither. Maybe there are two circles.

just suppose it wasn’t an accident ...
just suppose there was a significant radiation leak ...

I wonder if the Russians would respond in some way?

Thousands of nuclear-tipped ICBMs aimed at the US

Because Russia is a “peaceful country” that “doesn’t view the US as an enemy”

Sure

Oh same for us here in the US. We are also an aggressor, in more ways than Russia around this globe of ours. And yes we have nukes aimed at Russia too. Let me guess it’s russias fault! Supposedly we created the first one so it is our own damn fault.
Has anyone visited Russia? They’re not drunk on vodka, that’s a myth. They do have the same conveniences we have yet we’re supposed to think they’re unlike us. They are with freedom. Seems their government is far more liberal when it comes to speech. Ours no. You get banished for opposing thing here in the USA. That said I would never want to live there and still support my country even though it’s a clown government

I have a friend that spent years there.
