The White House on Thursday announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will soon be "forced" to reduce operations at the southern border due to lack of funds.
Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that because Republicans have not passed the bipartisan border security agreement with funding for Israel and Ukraine, the administration is left with no choice but to pull back from the border.
"Because congressional Republicans are choosing partisan politics over our national security and refusing to pass the bipartisan national security agreement that includes significant border reforms and funding, over the coming weeks, ICE will be forced to reduce operations because of budget shortfalls," Jean-Pierre said during a gaggle on Air Force One.
"We have asked Congress for additional funding and resources, and every time Congress has provided less than we asked for, or most recently, completely ignored our supplemental request," she said.

Welfare, legal help, criminal prosecution and incarceration, losses to victims and insurance, education, with tutors, translators, unpaid hospital bills....the list goes on.
One is tempted to say that Joe’s handlers developed this idea, but that forgets that Joe is a vindictive bully and always has been.
They both are.
Indeed. It was something that they had in common.
Well, now that the White House has admitted that the border is out of control and they need more money to secure our border (even though we all know they can shut it down at any time), wouldn’t this be a good time to introduce a stand-alone border bill that funds the border and demands a temporary complete shutdown? Repeatedly if necessary.
I know there is a house bill sitting in the Senate, but a clear stand-alone bill would be even better. Even the complicit presstitutes will have trouble defending anyone who continues to oppose clean quick funding for the border.
Chuck Schumer is now openly saying that funding Ukraine is more important than defending our border. That’s a bad look.
The pubbies need to get on this bandwagon. I believe the border is a true bi-partisan issue with the people, and that it is becoming clear to more and more of the non-moon-bat democrats (and maybe even some of the other ones) that the dems have no intention of doing anything on the border.
I just left a message on the speaker’s voicemail encouraging a stand-alone border bill immediately in response to the White House’s threat to open the border even more due to funding needs.
I believe phone messages are most effective. Speaker’s office: 202-225-4000

F em they can barely do worse than they’re already doing.
Get Trump in and deport.
That would be the cheapest way to fix the lack of funds.
Huh? Why would ICE/BP need to cut back? Didn’t they get normal funding in the annual budget....?
p
I’m surprised they could do any less.
The treason and sedition charges will have even more teeth against this administration and all those in it.
Calling it blackmail assumes that Biden is actually devoting resources to securing the border.
“Maybe Ukraine can send us some money for OUR border.”
Sadly, all the kickbacks from Ukraine go to politicians to keep the border open. This has no good ending.
What b@lls! CREATE the problem in the first place, then SCREAM that you’re not getting enough funding to solve the problem that...YOU CREATED IN THE FIRST PLACE!
We’re so screwed. Totally. In EVERY sense of the word. Plan accordingly for you and yours, FRiends. We. Are. On. Our. Own. 100%!
*SPIT* I LOATHE THEM ALL!
Biden showing he can control the border and doesn’t need the new bill to do whatever he wants.
But the Republicans are the ones preventing a resolution of the border crisis.
“I will cut America’s throat if you won’t let me continue to rape her”
White House “says”
Never saw a taking “house”.
Slo Joe is not longer capable of carrying on a conversation
Exactly!! But then intelligence is not an asset in the Democrat world.
You cannot reduce something below zero.
